With the terrible bombing of the Sari & Paddy's Clubs in Kuta, Bali, our thoughts go to the 100's of people who were killed & injured & the 1,000's of people whose lives will never be the same again.

Deepest sympathy to the families of the confirmed dead, courage to those families who have loved ones still missing & to those who were injured, our thoughts are with you.

We were shocked that yet again (just over 1 year after September 11, 2001) our lives have been shattered by another terrorist attack.

Yes, this time the death count was lower, but this time it was closer to our home & the realisation that it could have been any number of people we know, really hit home.

Harmless tourists just having a good time, people like you & me.

Lest we forget.

This is so sad :(

Terrorism has to be stopped and I hope now that countries outside of the US are affected by it we will have more hope to rid the world of these terrorists...

My heart and prayers go out to those affected by this...and those, like yourself, who feel it is way too close for comfort...

So sad ...............another tragedy felt all around the world. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone...

Death count doesnt seem to matter.........just innocent lives lost

2000 or 2 it all seems so pointless

Sam - I agree - death count doesn't matter - whether it's one innocent life or 1,000 - the impact is still the same. What do these lunatics think they will gain with this - sympathy for their cause - I don't think so. As difficult as it is we must stand together to face terrorism and show them we are stronger than anything they can do. I've heard a lot of people say "I'm not ever going to Bali" but that's too bad because Bali is a beautiful paradise and we shouldn't let the terrorists win. My prayers are with those who have been affected.

Unfortunately many countries outside the USA are affected by terrorism regularly--for some of them it is a way of life. Not a day passes for them without being scared, not knowing when the terrorists ugly hands will grab them. Sad but true.

Terrorism should end and come to a complete halt. Only if people learn to respect human lives and learn to live in harmony.

What happened in Bali was shocking and extremely sad--so many innocent lives lost.

This is scary, too close to home :(

I feel so sad for the world at the moment. It's a crazy time. I can't imagine what all those poor Aussie families are going through, it's just terrible :(

Even though I will be at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix this weekend, I will surely be taking a minutes silence on Sunday at 12 noon and hopefully I can find a sprig of wattle to wear for the day too.

My thoughts are with all the friends and families of the lost and missing.

This hit a bit close to home for us as well. The fiance of a friend of mine is still among the missing, but of course we hold out no hope at all. Her heart is just one of many that is broken. Deepest sympathies to all affected, but especially to our Australian friends who appear to have suffered the most loss.

Bali has long been our favorite weekend getaway and we grabbed every opportunity to go and enjoy the island's tranquility and the wonderful hospitality of the Balinese people. In fact, as I type this, I am looking at a framed photo of my three children playing in the surf at Kuta Beach at sunset. . . I've always loved that photo, but now it makes me sad.

No one wins in this situation. Innocent lives lost, already-struggling Balinese people facing an even bleaker future without the tourists, and the fanatics no closer to their goal.... as someone else said, "what's the point?"
