ate underwear!

I have a 10 month old male neutered boxer. He is a sock and underwear eater. Last night we caught him eating a pair of my daughters underwear and swallowed them before we could get them out. He has done this before without me actually seeing it. He has always thrown them up. I don't know how long to wait to see it he throws them up before taking him to the vet. He ate breakfast and dinner fine. He also is acting fine. What should I do?

Has he had a poop?? Keep watching him cause if he gets plugged up it can cause a big problem. I would call the vet.

Yes he has gone to the bathroom. I will call the vet in the morning. Maybe he will throw it up tonight. (I hope)

He should poo it, are you SURE he ate it? Maybe he 'hid' them...If you are sure and he doesn't poo it, then a vet visit is in order.

Stretchy things can do shocking damage to the insides, my vet has told me horror stories about dogs eating underwear. Bailey ate a sock and a headband without me knowing and threw them both up within what I guessed was around 24hours or so. I'd go to a vet if it hasn't come up yet.

Good News!!!!

He throw up the underwear this morning. I haven't sleep in two days waiting. I'm so happy I didn't have to take him to the vet. I came out like a sausage. (Grossssss) Well Mojo is eating breakfast and can tell feels so much better.

Yuk! It's a shocking thing coming up again too! Good idea to show it to the kids and tell them to make sure they put their stuff in the laundry hamper!

Glad he tossed those "drawers" up... Poor guy.. Or.. more like POOR YOU! Sooo stressful!
Well.. Maybe you should take a pair of mens undies and drape 'em over his head, the leg holes over his eyes so he can see, and stick his snoot through the "front access" and make him WEAR 'EM for a day!!!!!! *chuckles*

Next time dump a little hydrogen peroxide in his throat which will make him barf in a few minutes.

Rockne ate a pair of my wifes underware and it blocked his intestine. The vet was suprised he couldnt pass it. After the operation the vet told me this trick and I used it 3 times since.A few years later he ate 3 or 4 pair at once when she left her underware drawer open. I walked in on him and it looked like he was bellied up to a buffet!
