Asia is throwing up

Harley will eat sometimes after something exciting happens (like someone coming home). Sometimes he'll eat after going for a walk, or playing with a toy.

Hey I hope all is resolved, but if not try giving an over he counter worm treatment. Whenever my dogs have taken to eating grass, I give a worming treatment. Evidence of a need for worming is a hacking like cough. My kids live in the house also, but they still manage to require a worming every so often. No telling what they get into when your head is turned even for a minute. Acording to my vet if over the counter worming meds clear it up its nothing to worry about. And also the yellow is stomach bile. Whenever mine starting hesitating from the food, first thing is a worming and it has worked every time thus far.

I'm not trying to offend anyone...but I would definitely STAY AWAY from the OTC wormers, if administered improperly they can be dangerous. And personally, I would consider changing vets if they recommended giving OTC wormers. Nowadays if your dog is on heartworm preventative...most of them prevent internal parasites also, and the parasites that the preventative doesn't cover...then the vet can prescribe a dewormer or do it in their office.

I would definitely agree that Asia is probably just hungry, and she's thrown up bile. Give her a big biscuit at night before bed, and if she still doesn't want to eat in the am...try sprinkling a little parmesan cheese on her food. Herkie LOVES that!

I had Mark's brother stay with her yesterday while Mark and I ran our errands (groceries, graduation, etc...) and she was fine. Before I took Mark his lunch, I gave her a biscuit which she gobbled up real quick, but I brought her food along (to Mark's work) and she still wouldn't eat. When we got home, I fed her another big ol' biscuit and she gobbled that one up too. Then, once Mark got home (he came home early), she began to eat her food.

Mark's brother is still here (she LOVES him) but she still hasn't eaten yet. She is too busy playing with him to even notice. They love each other so much, it is adorable! *Today is my cleaning day so I was in the kitchen sweeping and walked in our bedroom to catch him holding her head in his hands saying 'you are so cute, Asia' and kissing her head - it was SO sweet ... but he is a 'tough kid' so I didn't want him to know I saw it !! *

I don't know what the deal is with that but I really need to see if I can get her to eat without him having to be here. Sprinkling parmesan cheese on her food is not a bad idea! I know when we eat speghetti or pizza, as soon as we get out the parmesan, she is all over us! I will try that if we have problems again tomorrow!

Some recommend feeding smaller portions more frequently.

You didn't say how many times a day you fed Asia. While it is common to feed dogs once a day, some Boxers don't do well on that schedule. If a Boxer has a "sensitive" tummy, spreading their food out over two or three feedings may eliminate the problem.

As some have suggested, an "appetizer" prior to feeding can go a long way to prevent an upset tummy.

Brandi had stated doing this off and on for a while. When she went in for her surgery for a MCT removal, she had thrown up that morning . I figured I'd take it with me and let them check it. The vet said it is something now recognized as "bilious stomach syndrome" and told me to feed her a small meal before bed. I had been giving her a biscuit but the vet said some dogs produce a lot of acid and a meal would be better and depending on our schedule to give it as late as possible. So now she gets 2 regular meals and a little one at 1AM when daddy comes home
So far so good it works.
