My kids can spot a Boxer a mile away. We've actually stopped the car and/or turned around on several occasions to talked to other Boxer people. They wre just as excited to talk to us. It's soooo fun.

See, I knew it!! You're all nuts!! I'm telling you, there is something just so amazing about these wonderful creatures that, just like 'paysmom' said, is hard to put your finger on, but they steal your heart away and make you crazy for them!!:D

not allowed to talk about it at home...

Guys, my DH has forbidden me from even talking about Boxers! I have driven him crazy talking about them since we married in January 2004. We lived in apartments until the beginning of March, when we bought a new home with a huge backyard. It didn't take me long to find a boxer baby and put down a deposit on him! I won't even get to pick him up until the end of May and I've already bought a crate and a bunch of toys! DH won't get excited about him until we see him. I haven't run into a boxer lately, but go absolutely crazy as everyone else anytime I see one! :)

I don't think it's us that are nuts...I think the rest of the world is not understanding!
My daughter was outside playing yesterday with a bunch of kids when she came running to the door yelling.."MOMMY..A BOXER" (she's 4 and a boxer-stalker)!! I ran to the door and sure enough there was a beautiful fawn girl with her owner and skin-kid on the sidewalk and the kids were fussing over her! I was so excited! I tried to ask the owner some questions...how old is she?...what's her name? The lady was NOT friendly and wasn't interested in sharing any info, and did not care that I told her I had 2 of my own! Well...I was HURT!! :( When she had left, I felt so offended, so down and it really bothered me that she was so snobby! How in the world do people like that become owned by a boxer?? They just don't fit in with our "breed" characteristic. Too bad though. They just moved in around the corner and her fawn girl could have been a potential playmate. Guess that won't be happening. :(

I have only met one person who was not at all friendly when asked about her boxer. She actually turned and walked away from my skinkids when they tried to approach her and her dog. I am hoping that maybe she was having an off day and just did not want to talk. Everyone else has always stopped and asked to pet Sindee and wanted to talk about her. I have not met up with anyone else who has a boxer while we are out walking.

Although we are fairly new to the Boxer scene I do the same thing and the kids do too. We have noticed several Boxers in the area. When we see one in the Petsmart I always ask to pet them. About a month ago the kids were outside playing and came in to tell me they saw someone walking a Boxer down the street and preceded to tell me what he (the dog) looked like. Not to long after that I was walking Scout and looked back to get the 2 year old to catch up. When I turned around there was a guy in front of me petting Scout and saying he had a Boxer. He had to be the one the boys saw and he is new to the neighborhood. Boxer owners are loyal to all Boxers it seems.

I guess we are the Jeep owners of the dog world. We just have to interact with each other. Now I have my wife doing the Boxer Spotting with me. :)

I'm soo crazy!

My husband sometimes almost gets irritated with me because I won't leave people alone if I see they have a boxer. He's like geez honey, not everyone is as crazy about them as you. I have to disagree, if they own one and have it out with them...I'm sure they are just as in love with theirs as I am Coco. In any case, I can't leave them alone either.
