I've been worried, too :( and so glad you got him to the vet. It's sad to hear about his enlarged heart, but maybe others here who have dealt with a similar issue can give some input. Perhaps it is a factor in his digestive problems. Poor boy, I am sending lots of healing thoughts for him, and hope his situation can be resolved. Hang in there!

The vet just called with the results of the xrays and blood test.
Archie has pancreitis. His enzymes are high. The vet said this could be because of his people-food diet - too high in fat. Looks like we have to just wait out his stubborness and feed him dog food. He does like Blue and Nature's Recipe canned food, so maybe we can transition him with those and then get the low-fat ones.
Everything else is normal except his heart. It is enlarged, quite a bit, and I have to schedule an ultrasound and ECG. Still now sure what an ECG is, but I will definitely schedule one for next week.
At least we know what his stomach problems are. The antacid he prescribed has definitely helped, so we are on our way.
Thank you, everybody, for all the positive thoughts and vibes. I'm so sure they really helped. This website is fantastic as are all the people who are willing to share their time to help those ofu s who don't know where to turn.
I'll keep you advised of the ultrasound. I know that we'll be able to have lots of good years to go with Archie.

I hope Archie is feeling better today! With meds to soothe and heal his digestive tract, and a good lowfat diet, there should be a big improvement. I keep him in my thoughts, and send lots of hopeful and positive vibes that his heart condition is manageable. Let us know how the ultrasound goes. Get better soon, Archie!!

Just checking back to see how Archie is doing. Glad to hear that they found the cause of his tummy problems. Hope all goes well with his heart. I know that lots of people here have had similiar problems and may be able to give you some more advice. Archie is a handsome boy and I can see how you would spoil him too death.
