Common theme for teaching to stop is for the child to stand like a tree - arms crossed in front of chest and ignore the dog. We are teaching our pup this now, as we will likely be sitting for my goddaughter, who is 2. we want to know that when the pup sees this reaction that it's time to do nothing and just wait. It takes a lot of consistency, but she's learning.
Only other thing i'd suggest is teach your daughter how to behave if the dog is getting too rough - and always be consistent with the reaction. it might just be that getting up and walking away is sufficient, or the stand like a tree approach. But your daughter should be the one telling the dog what is acceptable... imho... so that the pup acknowledges her as being higher in the pecking order in the house
