What kind of fence is it? I've heard they won't jump the fence if they can't see the landing on the other side.

Hmmmm... That has never deterred my girl so I would not count on it. Once a jumper always a jumper at heart

I wouldn't put a runner -
My aunt's dog (Tommy, the border collie) was a fence jumper.. so she put him on a runner.. and he jump the fence.. and she came home to see her dog, dead, chocked on the other side of her fence.. it was so horrible!!! :(

you could also train him with the invisible fence .. just an idea.. :) that would also teach him not to climb the fence...

my Dixie goes over a six foot privacy fence, as well as chainlink. I need to get an invisible fence or a remote trainer. The whole idea of finding her choking or dead on a skyline isn't appealing. She doesn't do it all time time, but more than i'd like.

Joey will jump a fence in a heart beat with me standing right there, I guess he is proud of himself and wants to show off for me but I am NOT amused. Joey is an indoor dog too and I dont have a fenced in back yard but i do have a very large play area tat he can run and play in, so we had to put a wire edging, that is about 2 feet wide, around the top that leans inward so when he jumps he touches it and wont attempt to go over. I can leave him unattened and not have to worry about him. You can get the stuff you need at any local hardware store and it is inexspensive.

My Rascal angelicon was a fence jumper, made me crazy. The funny part was that he didn't start doing it until he was about 4 years old. A taller fence solved our problem. Now my Indiana can't even be bothered to lift his own backside to get into my truck without prodding, no jumping problem with him.

I'd talk to the landlord about a higher fence as well. Good luck.
