Hello all. So my Timberwolf supplier just told me she won't be carrying it for much longer due to all the price increases over the past year. So today I picked up a bunch of samples from the doggy health food store. The winner without a doubt was the Canidae Lamb and Rice. Gino can't have chicken, so we need a different protein source. I see we have many options though. So, is anyone using it? How's it working out? I was actually pretty excited to see he picked one so cheap :) I can buy a 40 lb bag of Candidae for less than what I spend on a 16.5 lb bag of TO. This version isn't on the dog food analysis yet, so personal experience is welcomed. Thanks! :)

Yes, I have been using it for about a month or so with or pup she loves it. I started with Innova but had a couple of quality control issue's with it so I switched to the candidae lamb and rice I assume it is or the same quality as the rest. Her coats seems to be really glossy and pretty! It did take about a week and or so for her to take a full switch to it. Her stool was runny at first. I give her dry and wet mix of candidae lamb and rice.

We switched to Canidae Lamb and Rice about 3 weeks ago because I was having a hard time ordering Timberwolf. We loved the Timberwolf, but there are always a lot of different flavors out of stock. I decided on Canidae after some research as well. One of our Boxers can't have chicken either. He will break out in hives with chicken. Both of mine have done wonderful with Canidae. The transition was very smooth, no problems at all. Maybe a little more gas for the first week. That has gotten better. It is so much cheaper and I can drive about 40 minutes to get it. I will just get 2 or 3 40lb bags at a time. We will eventually have to find something to rotate with, but for now it is working great.

I hope it all works out.

I'm switching to it now from Solid Gold Wolf King. Madison also can't have chicken which makes it hard to find a food that will work and also one that's not terribly expensive. I just began the switch so we'll see what happens. They all seem to love the taste. I can get it at a place about 10 mins from my house, as opposed to driving 30 mins for the Solid Gold, plus it's cheaper so I'm hoping it works out.

I use Canidae Lamb and Rice in my rotation and both dogs did great on it. They gobbled it up...of course, they gobble up everything so they're not the best taste-testers  But their coats looked great and they had firm poop on it so I was pleased :)

We love Canidae

I have used Canidae Lanb & Rice for years for my dogs. I rotate it with a couple of others. My dogs have always done well on this food and they really gobble it up, so apparently they enjoy it!

My fawn female had pups last year and even my breeder was impressed with how well the babies did on the food and asked me what I was feeding them!

I know that all dogs are a little different, but I would think this would be a great choice for your dog.

Update on switch

Hello everyone. Just an update on the switch to Canidae Lamb and Rice formula.
Gino has done wonderful on it. His poo is firm and much smaller than on TW. Not as much gas either.
I am absolutely thrilled so far and he LOVES this food!
