Well we decided on Darby as her new name. It is very close to Daisy, and yet very unique.

Here is a link to new pictures of her...........it's hard to get good pictures as everytime you move she has to see what's going on. The first couple of pictures are from her first night...........she was still very timid and scared.

Steve,

I am going to be applying to Second Chance Boxer very soon. Did everything go smoothly for you & SCB? Just curious.

Paula

PS - congrats on the new addition to your family!

Hi Everyone,

I adopted my Rufus August 13, 2003, from Second Chance Boxer Rescue. It took less than 2 weeks for the whole process, from application, to bringing our boy home. I was in contact with Rufus' foster mom before we picked him up, both by e-mail & telephone. She was so helpful to me & was after the adoption too. I am very grateful Rufus came to Second Chance Boxer Rescue.

I also volunteered as a reference checker. Sometimes getting a hold of a ref is hard. Not home, eating dinner, on vacation, yadayada. Sometimes I'd call the vet for a reference & the vet did not have prior permission from the potential adoptees for us to inquire about their other pets. There are a bunch of reasons why sometimes things can be held up!

I had a wonderful experience with SCBR!

First. let me congratulate you for adopting Rufus and for your participation in rescue, he really is a lucky fella to have you as a new mommy. I've checked out their web site numerous times and was really impressed - it offers a wealth of information. - Cathy

I think that's what I like most about SCB - their website. All of the foster parents are really good about updating the info on their dogs, and they're very honest about how a dog is doing.

It's nice to know that they really want an adoption to work in the long run, so they're not going to candy-coat anything just to get someone to take a dog. if anything, I'm nervous about being approved!

SCBR was very good about telling us know what Chloe was like, there were no surprises. they are also very good about telling you that they don't know about something. We love our little Chloe, and are so happy we got her from SCBR. I still look at the site every day they have such cute dogs!
