I am addicted to the SCBR web site! I live nowhere near there but love to look and see who has found a home..... Have been checking in on them for some time now! I thought I recognized Phantom! what a small world it is!

I'm the same way! I saw Phantom months ago on that website when I first started looking for a boxer, and even though I'm no where near their either, I still loved him. I was so happy when I saw someone from here had adopted him! That is too funny!

Nope.............I don't think that is for us..........all though I hope it is.

The reference check is done, and the home check is tomorrow morning. They know that Simon is the one we wanted..........so they might have put him pending for us.

They called me tonight and said that they are working to move the process along as fast as possible. If we do get Simon, it is a 7 hour drive each way to get him.

Steve--that comment made me laugh so hard... I just got done calling 9 people while on a break here at my 8-5 job, screening, explaining in detail why we spay and neuter to a lady that wants to breed her dog with one of our rescues, and I had about 30 e-mails to respond to, not to mention the 15 apps I need to still screen. Only an hour lunch and today I didn't get a chance to eat, but because of my calls, tomorrow I am getting to go on a couple of dog appts where I hope to place a dog into a forever home...so it's worth it....tell my stomach though, as I munch on my stash of goldfish I keep in my desk drawer... ;)

I'm not with SCBR, but I know we are all in the same boat and we work our little butts off for these sweet babies, and we work sooooooo hard, FOR the dogs... SO...don't worry, Steve---all in good time, as Paul said. We all want to find the RIGHT dog for the RIGHT family, and to do that takes a bit of time... Just hang in there...

Good Luck, Steve. Let us know how it turns out. :)

LOL! I couldn't have said it better myself! Your day sounds much like mine, but I don't know about you, but the "Boxer Rescue Diet" is working nicely for me. I've lost 23 lbs. since March. Who the heck has time to eat??

I love doing rescue though, but I do appreciate people with patience, as do all the rescues. We really do the best we can. :)

Steve, thanks for your patience and good luck!!

Well, everything is done.

Home Check was on Saturday, and it went great!!

I have to call tomorrow to let them know that we are ready to adopt, and see when we get to go get a Boxer.

It looks like Simon is gone, so our 2nd choice Daisy is still available.

I'll update again after I find out more.

Well today is the big day................we are getting Daisy!!

I'm leaving in about 30 minutes to drive down to Conn. and then taking a ferry to Long Island to get Daisy.

I'll update again later.

Well it's all done.................Daisy is home!!

I made the 3 hour drive today to New London, Conn. and then took the 1.5 hour ferry ride to Long Island where I met Fran with Daisy. I was on Long Island for about 1.5 hours, and then it was back on the Ferry with Daisy for the 1.5 hour ride. She did excellent on the ferry, there were 5 other dogs in the same room..............and Daisy was the best behaved out of all of them. The 3 hour ride in the truck after that...........and we were both glad to be home.

I can't believe how comfortable Daisy is already. She ate all her supper, is playing with her new toys, and right now is napping in her crate on her new bed. My daughter and Daisy have been playing since I got home...........so they are both very tired.

The whole adoption process only took 3 weeks to the day..............from application to adoption. I would highly recommend Second Chance Boxer Rescue for anyone in the Northeast looking to adopt.

I'll put some new pics in the gallery as we get them.

Thanks to all that posted.
