Anyone ever think of adding second dog of a different breed?

I've thought about getting an English bulldog or Irish Wolfhound (lifespan too short for my liking), or perhaps a retired greyhound, or maybe a smooth collie but I keep going back to the boxer. The main reason (besides the fact that I love them) is the way they play. I would be afraid that my overly dominant Daisy would be too rough for any other breed except another boxer. Maybe when they both calm down (yeah, right!) we'll consider another breed to add to the family.

My boxer was our 2nd

We to went the other way. My first dog, that was not my families dog, is a cocker spaniel(maggie). She is so sweet and kind but has alway been a little mellow.
When I got married maggie came with me. It was the first dog for my husband and he fell in love right away.
We soon started talking about getting a second when we realized that we both had been interested in boxers. Well after much research we got our Zoe:p She has definately livened things up around here. Poor maggie thinks she must have done something wrong for us to bring this "thing" into her house:mad:( She is now 12 and Zoe will just be 2 in Feb.)
Although I love maggie dearly and she will always be special to me because she was MY first dog i'm afraid to say I am forever hooked on boxers!!:D

Well,

we've come to a decision. We'll be filling out our adoption application to Boxer rescue to submit in the new year, and we couldn't be happier!! HOORAY!!

Good Choice;)

Since Dobermans were my first love, and Dogue de Bordeaux my second (which led me to Boxers) I entertain different breeds. Some of the best (and worst) tempered dogs were Rotties, and I am very fond of them as well.

They're just never going to be Boxers, and that is what best suits my personality, and my lifestyle.

When I get old, I'm gonna get Frenchies:) .

Well like Scorpio, our other dog is a Rottweiler.

We got him when Billy was 3 yrs old. They are now almost 6 and almost 3 yrs and get on very well. Even though Tommy is now full grown occasionally they are to be found curled up in the same bed together!

Boxers for me from now on!:D BUT, if I did choose another breed, it would probably be a rottie. I knew one who was so smart, and loved kids. But Stacy wants a doberman. He had one as a child. So, who knows, we may have a dog farm someday (which I would LOVE!!!). But I will definitely never be without a boxer.:)

We're thinking about a pug since we're not sure if we have the space for a second large dog. Besides, we have to save room for Gordsan's boxer, Mason, to come for visits!:D

I have a 5 month old Weimeraner, Daisy, and I adore her. She is very different from Lily. For instance, when I ask them to sit at the same time, Lily is about to jump out of her skin, while Daisy is much calmer. The Weimie can keep up with Lily and loves to play. Sometimes I think Lily is going to kill Daisy, but Boxers are more vocal and she is just having fun.

I love Boxers dearly, but it is fun to have a dog with a different personality and traits.

Where to start...

I know that I will always own a Boxer, I just love everything about the, and I REALLY want a brindle girl.

BUT - I have this list of like TEN breeds of dog I want. I love Rotties, that is what I wanted in the 1st place, though I am glad I got Mac. And I would like an Aussie and/or a sheltie and/or a border collie. And then I want a "water dog" like a lab. And then my small dog list goes on and on. But I have been kind of checking shelters, and think that a Boston Terrier will be my next baby. I want more space before I get a 2nd boxer, but I also know Mac would love a friend. Who knows? 2 years ago - I didn't even like dogs;)
