We are looking for a boxer play date or a dog park in south jersey to bring our 3 year old brindle boxer boy Koby to play. He does not have any fur friends. Their are alot of little dogs in my neighborhood and they want nothing to do with my baby. They bite his nose and bark at him so we won't let him go near them.
We have a little beagle next door but he can't really play with him he is to little.

We would love to play. Koby is a male boxer almost 3 years old and he has never played with another boxer. Let me know a good time and we can work out the plans together.

Hi amyf!

If you are interested in letting Koby play with other Boxers, it may interest you to know that there is a playdate scheduled. It will be Saturday (10/23) at 1pm in north Wilmington. The location is Talley Day Dog Park. If you want to attend or need more information, just follow this link to the thread. We'd love to see you and Koby there! :)

There's also a thread on the PA Boxer Bashes as well.

We would love to come and play. I do however have a few concerns. Koby has never played with other boxers. He playes with our minature beagle next door and he is great. My concern is that he may be to rough or out of control. Should I not worry or just keep any eye and if he is just leash him. My husband will not be with me and I do have control over him but we have never been in this situation before. Any thoughts.....

Hahahahahah! I about died laughing when I read that. Sorry! :D You have a Boxer right? ;)

Do *not* worry about Koby being out of control or a little rough. It's part of being a Boxer to be wild and crazy... as I'm sure you've noticed with Koby. I bet Koby will be thrilled to play with many Boxers. By all means keep an eye on him at the dog park, not just to watch out for him being rough but for other dogs who might be too rough for Koby's liking.

I wouldn't leash Koby inside the park for many reasons. Most importantly, the park rules prohibit it (and for good reason). Friendly dogs can become leash aggressive if they feel trapped or threatened. The other and more humorous reason is that Koby may accidentally "closeline" or lasso someone with the lead. LOL :D

The park has a double gate at the entrance. Inside the two gates is where you unleash your dog (so you aren't trying this in the middle of a pack of excited dogs). Also inside the gates is a doggie and people water fountain. Doggie bags are provided but they sometimes run out.

If you feel uncomfortable at any time, the other dog owners can be very helpful in corralling your dog. Plus there will be lots of other Boxer owners around! :)

Hope to see you there!! :D
