LuckyDog...do you mean meet at Montrose Beach this Sunday? Let me know what time you would be there...I'm sure my hubby and I would love to meet you guys there! :)

Rocco...I'm sorry that Rocco broke his toe! Riley is a bit rowdy too...I always worry about something like that happening to him. Give him our well wishes! BTW...what is HOD?

What about 9 AM this Sunday, 8/15? (We have a date with a golf course at noon.) I'd love to meet up with some new boxers and Lucky is always wanting to play in the water. Let me know if that works for you all.

We want to play

Hi guys,
I'm not sure anything definate has been set up yet, but I would love to bring my two "kids". Zoe is 3 1/2 and Kozmo is 10 weeks old. We live west straight out on 90 but would be willing to drive in to meet somewhere. Let us know!

Thanks,
Tami, Zoe & Kozmo

We'll be there too...Montrose beach - 9 AM this Sunday (Aug 15th).

Teag - we'd love if you could join us too...I'm trying to think of the best way for you to get there. Probably 90 in, exit at Irving Pk and just keep driving east. Montrose is the next main street north of Irving Pk. The entrance to the harbor / beach is on Montrose. Then take the harbor drive around (it curves a few times)...you'll pass the marina, a stone concession stand (on your right), and another "street". That's about where the doggie beach is. Park and walk to the lake...you'll start to see the dogs.

Can't wait to see you tomorrow! And Riley will be so excited to meet some new friends! :)

So Fun...

It was so much fun to meet all the other Boxers out there yesterday. Montrose was a great time for Lucky. Too, bad it ended so abruptly for her. She has a little bite on her ear that just wouldn't stop bleeding. We took her to Animal 911 in Skokie and they bandaged her up. She now has a bandage around her entire head holding the ear in place so it doesn't open up again. She also has a very stylish cone around her head...which she HATES!!

But, we still had a good time and would love to get together again...maybe at a different venue with fewer dogs so they could all play together.

Both Rileys are beautiful!! My husband thought I would have baby Riley in my bag when we got to the car :).

SO glad to hear about Lucky!

Luckydog...I'm so glad to hear that Lucky is ok. I was logging in to write and see how she was doing. I'm so sorry that happened to her...especially since it was your first time there! I've only been there 3 times, but Riley's friend Henry goes all the time and nothing like that has happened before. Do you know what / how it happened?

Both Riley families left shortly after you guys did. Someone yelled at Pat about our Riley's leash being on, and another lady was upset that Riley and Molly's lab "borrowed" her dog's toy (in my opinion...if you don't want that to happen, you may not want to go to a public dog beach). The pug wouldn't leave the pup Riley alone, plus I think he was a bit cold.

I think it was just a bit too busy on a Sunday morning. If you go on a Weekday evening...there's not too many people/dogs there. Plenty to play with, but not enough to run out of personal space. Maybe we'll have to try the Evanston beach or something. Do you know if they have day passes? Otherwise, we'll have to find a nice dry alternative for the fall. Any other dog parks around?

It was nice to meet you and WTRiley! Hope we can do it again sometime...

Glad she's ok

We had a lot of fun, sorry to see that fight broke out and Lucky took one in the ear. I don't think that other owner had a clue that his dog bit and caused an injury, I saw him walking around the rest of the time like nothing happened.

Our Riley enjoyed it, for him it was sensory overload. The water gave him the shivers but once he dried off he was fine.

It took him about an 1/2 hour to relax but then on the drive home he was lights out, snoring away.

We're up for Skokie/Evanston if you decide that would be a good place to go.

Let us know. Nice to me you all.

If you bring a dog toy there and get upset with that many dogs that it wanders off, you're expectations are way off base. The pug is the second "evil dog" we've encountered. A small terrier terrorized Riley 2 weeks ago at the dfa in Lake Forest (Milo is now considered an evil dog by our kids). The smaller dogs seem to have a Napoleon complex. Well, they'll just have to wait until Riley adds another 30 or 40 lbs.
