Any animal control officers?

I was just wondering if anyone is or has been a animal control officer? There is a positon for one in a local city and I've been thinking of changing careers and was hoping to get into something with animals. I was curious if people who did this job liked it? Also any other comments on it or advice would be great! Thanks so much!

That is a very good question! I would be interested to know as well. I have the opportunity now to really think about doing something seriously and that I would enjoy as a career, and anything with the SPCA or animal related is what I would like. I was wondering too about education/experience that is required. I wouldn't even mind starting by volunteering at the local shelter.
