Just caught on to this thread... glad to know you're doing a bit better! There is a lot to be said for therapy too... I see it as something that helps give you coping skills. Because try as we might, we can never remove all the stress from our lives. Really hope everything works out well for you.

PS. Don't be sad about coming to Alberta... seriously, it's not that bad here!!! (Just kidding, I am suspecting that it has something to do with testifying??)

Oh its not Alberta that I hate... Its Edmonton.. I used to live in Olds, it was a nice place (went to school there) started dating an idiot and moved to Edmonton with him... big mistake. In anycase his dumb ass cousin got the snot beat out of him by a cop and I witnessed the whole thing.. I dont like the guy but what I saw was wrong, so I filed a complaint with Internal Affairs, and so did he, well I guess 2 reports on the same occurance about the same cop is cause for investigation. I have nothing bad to say about cops, I quite like them but this guy abused his power. And to add to it when I went out there in January he tried to get all his buddies to try to intimidate me, he looks like joe pesci only bigger..

Calgary is lovely, Banff and Jasper also lovely, the people are real nice out there but I HATE EDMONTON!! lots of bad memories and lots of bad feelings.

:) things are looking up though, a friend of mine is trying to see if she can go with me to testify, but we shall see. She isnt in a hurry to get her plane ticket and time is running out, I am beginning to think she is all talk and no action. Time will tell.

Paula, I read your post about your son. I'm so so so sorry to hear about your loss. It's good that you're able to open up and talk about your sadness ... because it will help you heal. I have lost people very close to me as well (although not a child), and one of the most helpful things that someone told me is that each person grieves loss very differently, and it changes over time. Extreme sadness, anger, questionings ... all of the emotions mixed together, coming and going. Sometimes you want to talk about it for hours, sometimes you just need to be alone. It really helped me to realize not to be disappointed in myself about how I was reacting to death - our reactions are necessary for our healing. Hope this can help you too. :)

(((BIG HUGS))) from us. :)
