Hello everyone! My name is Rachel, 22 from Vacaville, CA (Bay Area). My boyfriend and I have two Boxers. We adopted a boxer from the Bay Area Boxer Rescue about two weeks ago. Her name is Sasha, 8 months old, Flashy Fawn. Then, last Wednesday May 1st, I was looking through the classified section of our local newspaper. Someone was giving away a 10 month old Boxer male. Well, naturally I called this lady and we set up a time to met. I took Sasha with me so we could see if those two got along. First thing the male, who's name is Scrappy, tried to do was mount her. He is a fawn with a black muzzle. He has yet to be neutured! Gotta do that soon. To make that long story short, I decided to bring Scrappy home as a surprise to my boyfriend, Jason. It has been such a blast to have two boxer puppies, both within the same age. I never had a boxer before. The only doggies that I have ever owned have been collies and shelties, so this is a whole new experience for me :D

Hi, welcome to Boxerworld. Sounds like you've jumped in with both feet. When do you find time to rest?

Tom

When the dogs are sleeping! I am an on-call medical assistant and ususally I only work about 3 days a week for 5 hours. This week, I have a full 40 hour work week. My boyfriend is in the military and he has a 12 hour shift. So by the time we both get home we are beat, and the dogs are still going full force. So we take them to a baseball field down the street and throw around a couple of balls for them. An hour later, they are tired :D So the only time we really get to relax is when the puppies are sleeping!

My boyfriend and I have the same problem, it seems as though we're tired way before our boxer gets tired. My boyfriend is in the military as well and works anywhere from 12 to 16 hour shifts, by the time he gets home he's sacked out. Good thing I have time in between and after college to try (and I mean try) to wear Ace out. Luckily there are dozens of dogs in this neighborhood to help me wear him out. I would like to get a new boxer, but I think we will wait until we have a bigger home.

Ace tends to chase the balls, but not bring them back.....he only does this outside though. Inside he fetchs the ball and brings it to me, but once he's outdoors the whole fetch and bring the ball back is just thrown out. It just doesn't seem to work at all.
