Thanks to everyone's positive & speedy healing vibes. My Dad had both knees replaced last month & is doing great! He had a few weeks of therapy at home, now as an out-patient. My brother is taking him to those at night & I took him for his xray yesterday & he is getting in the car great, no cane, either. I am so happy to see him doing so much better. He is still experiencing pain or tightness especially at night, but he is told it is normal, this will go away in a few months. He has a doctor (the one that did the operation) appt. on the 30th & if all is good, hopefully he will be back to driving soon & his part-time job. He is very bored at home. So anyone out there hesitant on getting your knees replaced, it is definately worth it:)

I was very happy to hear your dad is doing so well!!! being stuck at home is very boring, bet he cant wait to go to work! (as I sit here wishing i was at home instead of work :) ) LOL

Excellent news! From what I can tell about joint replacement surgery, the worst part is the apprehension before hand. Glad to hear he is doing well and fingers crossed all goes well at his Dr.'s appointment!

Hi Linda,
Haven't been on here much lately, and was so glad to read your update. I agree with the worst being the apprehension before, that was how my Mom was. But as you know she healed up great and that was 2 hips in 3 months and seems to have no problems getting around. I can't believe she goes in for her 1 year check up already. It feels like we just went though this.
I'm sure if you Dad is doing so good now in a few months he'll be really moving and shaking;)

Glad to hear your Dad is doing better. My next door neighbor is having both of his knees done within the next 3 weeks and is very nervous. I'll pass this info on to him and hopefully he'll be a little less aprehensive now. He is 73 but acts 53 :) and is like my second dad.

Good to hear he is doing well!

My Grandma had both knees replaced three weeks apart when she was 87! My Dad had a hip replacement when he was 66, due to a broken hip (fall from horse). They both recovered quickly. It sounds like your Dad is as well.
