Good News! The vet called me yesterday afternoon and said that the board-certified radiologist she consulted with saw no injury to Holly's growth plate! She said what we thought was a flake was just a normal bone formation; that it was probably just a soft-tissue injury and that she could get the bandage off on Monday - YAY! Now she will be able to make her show debut next week after all
:) :) :)

I have just uploaded a couple of pix of the little minx with her big ole wrapped up leg. You can see the poor little Princess when they get approved. Now she looks like one of those people who do the fake injures for disaster training - leg bandaged and ears wrapped up!

Thanks to everyone for their good wishes and healing vibes!

Yea!!!! Good to hear the darlin' will be able to make her show debut and that is was not something more serious. I hope she tears up the ring. We are all pulling for the Princess.

Update

Unfortunately I have bad news on Holly. She went to the vet on Monday to get her leg unwrapped and checked out. She did not want to put weight on it and it was slightly swollen. Nothing permanently damaged, thank goodness. But she is back being bandaged up until next week. This means her debut is being postponed until the January shows in Palm Springs.

I was so looking forward to this weekend showing Holly. But I guess a week being bandaged was not quite enough. So she is on the couch with strict orders to do nothing about watch Soaps.

As Genie said, this will just give her competition a small respite :)

This has been not a good week for us, orthopedic-wise. It was disappointing enough that our little Miss Holly had to pull out of the shows this weekend, but last night, my son injured his hand at a simple game of catch, which with him being a musician, is a disaster. After spending an hour and a half at urgent care, and three hours today at a hand specialist, the result is he has to wear a splint 24 hrs a day for 6 to 8 weeks and completely immobilize his damaged finger. And the week before that, I broke my tooth. Grrrrr!

But, to keep this all in perspective, we will all heal. Holly will debut about the same time my son is ready to be freed from his splint and in the grander scheme of things, we have lots to be thankful for. So I wish everyone here a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving tomorrow and give your furbabies an extra hug and treat, too.

Owies for the whole household. At least they say bad things come in three's so you should be done and can get on with the good. Abby was orginally going to send boxer kisses to Holly but now sends them to all the injured! Hope you all heal quickly.
