So...any takes on tonight's finals?? Clay and Ruben...two great singers for very different reasons...and both very different stylistically. Of course, my heart lies with Ruben...and I will be putting in as many votes as I can for him. Whoever wins, it was a great competition and they have loads to be proud of!
GO RUBEN!!!!! He's the king!!!

Clay was absolutely awesome tonight. I'll be shocked if he doesn't win. I've been trying to get my vote in for an hour but the lines are busy.

Ruben did good too but he is usually better than he was tonight. I think the pressure got to him.

Either way, I wish them both the best in their careers. They deserve it.

Very close competition! That last note that Clay hit was just amazing, and I think Simon was right when he said it could win the competition for him. But I just don't think Clay is as marketable or as fun to listen to or watch. So....

Clay was great as usual...I got 5 votes in for him but it took a while. Reuben is great too but seemed out of breath on is last song:confused: The competition was incredible...I'll sure miss watching it! Has anyone bought the cd of the whole gang?

They both did great last night. I'll admit Clay did awesome on that last song, but I just can't stand to watch him. I hope Ruben wins, I tried to vote probably 150 times, and never did get through. Hope that's a good sign!

I'm rootin' for Reuben..either way both singers will be very successful considering they beat out thousands of performers to get to this point. They are definitely both very talented men.

I think that Clay blew Reuben out of the water last night - You gotta remember that these guys are performing on RAW talent - they haven't worked w/professionals to work out those "kinks" in their performances - so Clay's "dancing" (if you can call it that) and the facial expressions WILL get much much better when the pros get hold of him

Based on raw talent, I think Clay DEFINITELY should win - I've always enjoyed Reuben but for the past 2 wks his voice has been hoarse and he looks exhausted!

I commented to my dh last night that the competition seems to be taking a toll on Ruben. He seems tired, and his voice is getting a bit gravelly. I noticed this 2 weeks ago too. It must be physically hard for a big guy to keep up with such a hectic schedule.

I have been a Roooben fan all along, but after last night I'd have to say Clay should be the one to get it. He sounded different last night, less theatrical and showed improvement and diversity. To me, it felt like Ruben coasted through it a little.

Both are great singers and very deserving. It should be interesting to see what happens tonight. I only hope I'm home in time--I have agility class tonight!

All I can say is Clay all the way. I live near Raleigh and they are having a big get together to watch the finale on a big screen tonight. I am considering going. People around here are going nuts. I do not think it was this crazy last year when the Canes were in the running for the NHL title. We shall see tonight! :D
