Am I being crazy?? Need help here

I'd be careful too! You mention about teenagers watching your dog. Well, there are plenty of us boxer stalkers around, but we can't wait to talk to the owners of them and share stories of our crazy boxers. That is where the difference lies. The fact that they just sped off when they saw your Mom is cause for concern. I know school is letting out so there are probably more kids roaming around. Be careful, we don't want anything to happen to your baby.

I would be very cautious of ANYONE doing that. I would let the neighbors know that strange ppl are cruising around so they can keep a watch out too. When we had our boxers, we had sold some of our pups to a friend. He had went in the house and left his pup tied up in the yard for a bit. He had noticed some kids around his neighborhood before and would run them off but this time, they got his pup. With the authoritie's help, the puppy was found in a very bad part of town, TIED INSIDE a house. It just never hurts to be careful. I used to have ppl stop and ask me all the time if ours were for sale. There was NO way that I would have ever seperated or sold my babies. NEVER! Why do ppl ask that?

Document everything just to be on the safe side. Make of car, color, times, people, everything. Like others have said better safe than sorry. Also, call the police to have a record if possible. And make them take the info down. i never let my boys out with out us. I don't know what I would do if they went missing.

Making flyers

Hopefully you won't need this advice, but forewarned is forearmed...

It's not a bad idea to make up some "lost" / "stolen"/ "missing" flyers with all your boxers information, current photo, contact numbers, etc. Leave some room to fill in pertinent details if, heaven forbid, your dog does go missing. If you end up needing them, you will be at least an hour or two (or more) ahead of yourself if they are already prepared; very valuable time indeed.

My husband and I actually print up a few flyers with our dogs' picture on them whenever we do road trips with them. Thankfully we have never needed them, but it is reassuring to know if they ever got lost in a strange town, we would have current photos and flyers to post immediately.

Like everyone said, I would collect as much info as possible and keep a close eye out. If you see any kids checking her out, give a shout to them and ask if they would like to meet her and walk her over on a leash. If you get to talk to these kids, you will see their intentions. If their intentions were not good, maybe things will change once they meet you and Zoey.

Lovely Rita- oh no offense towards teens, heck I'm only 22 myself- still a youngen in most people's eyes. I was a dog lover as a teen too, but not all teens are sweet and innocent, especially when most people think of boxers as a "bully" type of dog who's all big and bad looking.

Trooper Thorn- thanks for the advice, that's good tip for all of us for trips and when we have our pups with us anyways. Heck if my dog was lost I probably wouldn't even know what color he was I'd be so scared.

Thanks for all the tips everyone, we've kept Zoey in the house as much as possible- which she hates. She acts like you're killing her if you take her freedom to roam away from her. I keep babying her and telling her it's for the best. We'll all be keeping a good eye out this wkend (for a better description) and knowing me I'll be the first to confront these people. Thanks for the help!

your not crazy at all. keep a close eye on her and dont let her out alone. if that car comes back again take the plate and call the police. always follow your gut feeling. not all people want dogs for breeding there are sick people out there. be careful.

I think you're wise to trust your gut & keep your girl inside. I have to do the same and it really irritates me but my nieghbors leave me no choice. Actually, my neighbor is fine but she has a boyfriend & a brother who visit a lot and both of them took one look at Sandy & commented "Hey, that sure is a pretty dog. I bet it's worth a lot of money." I was stunned but kept my cool & told them she really wasn't. That she had been fixed so no puppies & she had lots of health problems and the vet bills were costing me a fortune. I don't know that they had any bad intentions but like you my "radar" went off and from that day on Sandy has not outside alone.

I would be mad/sad if someone took my Rocky. There is a way to find out who is looking at your dog if you get the license plate. You should be able to go to www.publicdata.com and sign up. This will let you find the owner of the car and the address. So if you really want to go that far you can. My friend used this to find some thiefs. He went to thier house and saw his stolen bike and called the police. good luck!
