Hi Everyone,
5 min ago i decided to wash dozers bed. It came with him when we got him, but it was new, so we didn't wash it. After 3 weeks of use - it's looking (and smelling) a bit icky....kinda smelled like a hamster cage,
.
I checked the tag and it was 95% polyester and 5% cedar chips (ahhh - that's why it smells like a hamster cage!), the shell was removable and washable. I went to take it apart, and the zippers were zip tied together. I assumed it came that way.. I thought to myself, "hmm, must be incase your dog keeps trying to open it,
".
I took the case off and all the bed really was without the shell was a thin polyester fabric encasing the polyester fluff and woodchips.
I went downstairs to wash it and was gone MAYBE 3 minutes. When i came back upstairs, there was Dozer, on top of his bed butt in the air (like when they are playing), he turned and looked at me and his face was COVERED in polyester fluff! It was EVERYWHERE! He had ripped open a hole the size of his head and was pulling all the fluff out!! I told him no and went to grab his bed and he must have known i was going to take it because he quickly jumped on it and tried for one last mouthful of fluff!!!
He would NOT leave it alone! I had to put it in my bedroom and close the door, and even then he followed me and as soon as I put it down he jumped on it!
What a silly guy! GOOD THING I was only downstairs for a couple minutes!!!
the whole is HUGE, but I stuffed all the fluff back in and after the shell is washed and back on, I think I WILL find a zip tie and secure the zippers!
