Okay, well with fall now here in Seattle we have more rain and a slightly smellier dog. Plus, the windows aren't open as much either. Now I know that some of this is just that my husband and I have sensitive noses, but I don't like walking into my house and smelling dog. Porter is an indoor dog of course and I try to wash his bedding once a week. His paws are wiped off when he comes in wet and/or muddy. I haven't been bathing him regularly based on all threads I read on here about it drying out their skin. And, in truth, he's not dirty...just doggy
What are some of the routines all of you use to combat the dog smell? Is there a product you can spray on them that is totally harmless but removes some of the doggy smell? I own a bissell steam vac and I'm gathering I'm going to need to clean my carpet weekly. Because I am so sensitive to smells, I can't use Febreeze...its all I can smell and it gives me a headache after awhile. Porter doesn't get up on the furniture, so most of the smell must be coming from the carpeting. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
