I'm getting married in Las Vegas on April 4th. Anyone have any Vegas wedding advice. Should I have my dress shipped out there or bring it on the airplane? Is it better to take a cab to get the marriage license or rent a car? What would be a good resturant for us to go to after the ceremony? There will be about 20 people going. Or any other advice someone may have?

First I want to say Congrats! appicon How exciting!

I got married there 13 years ago! Who said Vegas marriages don't last!

I brought my dress on the plane. There is usually an area where you can hang things up ask the stuardess. I paid for everything ahead of time and if you get certain wedding packages, some of the chappels will throw in limo service to and from for the license and then to the ceremony. Have fun! :)

Wow congratulations.

My hubby wanted to get married there but I said no as I wanted all my family at the wedding. So we ended up getting married on a FARM in Ireland with chickens and ducks all around us !!!!!! Different.

Search on the internet.

Congrats

I always liked the idea of getting married in Vegas but my boyfriends sister has beat me too it, she's getting married there in 2008 now it would seem like I was copying her so I will just get married at home - good point with that though is Lola can come too!

I admire your courage. I am getting married in July, and am already over whelmed by all the stress! Originally we were planning on a cruise, but there were certain friends and family members who would or could not attend, and I just couldn't imagine my day like that. So silly me is in the middle of planning this wedding for 150 people, and I am pulling my hair out!! Congrats to you, and I hope you get some great advise. :)

Thanks. The advice helps. Some one asked me the other day how the wedding planning was going and I told them I was done. I got my dress and his suit, booked the trip, booked the wedding, got the Mystere tickets, called friends and family and told them lets go on vacation and we'll throw a wedding in there. All for less than $5,000.00. I am so excited.

congrats on your future wedding! my only advice is to definitely bring your dress with you on the plane as a carry-on...you don't want to have to worry about your dress not making it there with you! If you have the funds, I would say go to a nice buffet - all of the casino's have them and there is some amazing food - better than most catering halls! Just call ahead to see if they can accommodate your party. Good luck!

As far as the reception goes, for us we had the honeymoon suite and it was a 2 story room the bottom floor was a bar/ living room/ big outdoor patio, and upstairs was the good stuff. ;) We has about 25 guests and we ordered a bunch of room service goodies. We called and told them our plan and they gave us a list of things that would work. We also got a cake from a Vegas bakery and served it in our room. The best part was when we were tired of the company we kicked everyone out!
