We had Ellie's ears cropped a couple of months ago, and are now into our 3'rd week of posting. We remove her posts every 5-7 days, give her ears a little freedom, and then determine if we need to go another week. So far the posting is going very well. Her ears are looking great. The "posts" are made from a soft foam, and then wrapped with tape (sticky side out). When you place the post down into her ear, you then press the inside of the ear to the sticky post, wrap the whole thing with a different type of tape, and you're good to go for a week. The problem I'm having is we cannot figure out how to remove the adhesive residue from the inside of her ear leather. Anyone have any magic formulas that will disolve this residue without hurting her?

I haven't had any experience with ear cropping... let me say that right up front. But one of the things that works well for removing adhesive in other situations is vegetable oil. Could that work?

Olive oil works wonders getting bandaids off my skinbabies. I would assume it would work on furbabies. Mineral oil also works good.

I had to get a cyst removed today, they put a sticky plaster over it that stays on for 14 days so it sounds like a similar kind of thing. Doctor said to put vegetable oil on it every 15 minutes for 1 hour and at the end of the hour it should peel off easily.
