Wow that is an over the top story! It's unbelievable that the people who are supposed to be protecting us are doing the complete opposite in some situations.

I hope they figure all this mess out for the sake of that girl and her puppies! It almost seems like there is something missing to the story, but I guess some people just really are vain like that! Hmmm, makes you think ...

Thanks for sharing. Keep us updated on that story if you can! ;)

I totally agree with you and the girl in the article.
I don't believe that they had any right to draw thier weapons at all it that case.
The article does not fully explain whether the cops thought she was with the suspects or not but from what I read it doesn't sound like they thought she was with them.
They should have taken her aside and spoken to her alone and not with the suspects in the same small space anyway. It did not sound like the dogs were being aggressive at all in any way and what is a 10 week old puppy goinng to do to a cop anyway.
What happened to Canadian cops not being able to draw their weapons unless they believed without a doubt that their lives were in danger????
At any rate. I would agree that she was within her rights, and I would have done the same........(P.S. I am Canadian.......)

That is a pretty bad article, but it does seem completely one sided. I'm curious as to what the police officers would have to say about the situation. I absolutley believe that Rolen would come to my defense if he saw someone grab my arm and then saw me get upset. Rolen wouldn't understand that a man wearing a police uniform was okay. He would just know that I was upset and was being threatened. I could see an officer being scared and pulling his gun on Rolen when he came to my defense. I wouldn't be happy with it, but I could understand the officer's motive. I guess common sense should tell people not to manhandle people in front of their dogs...

BTW, are those Pit Bulls? Maybe it was the whole Pit stigma.

Yes I believe those are pitbulls, and pitbulls just got banned ehre so that probably is the whole reason behind pulling their guns. I too thought that there was something missing in the article..but it doesnt say he pulled a gun on the bigger dog, she says he pulled it on her puppy.

WOW!!!

I must say that I AM a police officer and I was alittle taken back by this story. UNLESS the dogs were aggressive and I stress aggressive I would have never threatened to shoot someones dogs. The officer could have walked with her while she took the dogs to the bathroom or he could have asked her name and address. That way they could have spoken with her at a later time.
I was not there so I can not fully judge the situation, but if it happened the way she said, I believe the officers were out of line. Also the article said that the officers were there to speak with the two male suspects in the elevator...my question is why were they giving her such grief???

Its situations like this that give the rest of us, who lay our lives on the line everyday, a bad name.

Can't wait to hear the outcome of this story, because I don't think that article did the situation justice. They didnt really provide much information, and was sketchy. Plus who pulls a gun on a dog that's not doing anything? Hope more details are available later. I'm with her though, there's no way I'd hand my dog over to anyone without a fight. Knowing my luck, soon as I'd hand the dog to someone he'd start acting wild and that shoot at him b/c of "vicious" behavior or some crap like that.
Sometimes a girl has to stand up for herself, no matter who it's against.

unbelievable. I would totally lose my cool if that happened to me. Please do post if you see an outcome to this story. I'd really like to know more and the outcome
