We are in another delema. This one has to do with when do we bring Morpheus home. If we bring him home at 7 weeks my partner will have time to spend with him before he leaves for greece for the Olympics. If not, then he does not see him until he gets back three weeks later. Is there any big difference in brining a pup home at 7 weeks as oppose to 8 weeks. Heis now 4 1/2 weeks he is eating puppy food and still drinking from his mother however not as much as before. I appreciate any advice u guys can offer.

I am no expert, I think for the puppies sake it's better to bring him home at 8 weeks. Someone else might be able to give you more accurate advice. I brought Oscar home at 6 weeks but that place was horrible. You're doing the right thing in waiting and asking for advice. Good luck with the new pup and the Olympics! That's awesome!!!

I know most breeders like 8-9 weeks, I think because they learn valuable lessons from their momma and littermates. But we got Cassius at 7.5 weeks, and it seemed fine. We also have another dog who he learned lessons from, like who's in charge. I think if you get him at 7 weeks, it will give your partner a good week with him before he leaves, ya' know for bonding and such.
Good luck, and I hope the transition for Morpheus goes smoothly. Imagine if you were home alone with 2 babies......YIKES! It will be easier with one. :)

I brought my Duke home at 7 weeks and I have never had any problems. Like somebody else said, im no expert, but I think that as long as the puppy is healty then one week wouldnt be a big deal. Good Luck!

8-10 weeks is vital for puppies to learn behaviors from their parents and littermates, of course there are some exceptions.
