What is it like having three boxers? What about walking three boxers? Does anybody have three in a large apartment/townhouse?

I dont have three boxers, but I do have two and a bulldog. The best way I a have fount to walk them is with a coupler. It is an attatchment for walking multiple dogs. They sell them at most pet stores. We moved to a house in October with a big back yard, but before we lived in a townhouse. When we lived in the townhouse we only had the one boxer and the bulldog. They like it much better in the house, but we kept them, and us sane by walking them-A LOT!!! Good luck with your dogs-do you have any yet? How many are you planning to get?

Cleatus-male brindle, neutered, natural ears
Daphne -female flashy fawn, spayed, natural ears
Sidney-white enghish bulldog, fat and fixed

I have had three Boxers at one time. One of the biggest concerns is the cost, it takes a lot of money when you have three. The older one was on some expensive medications and you have to be prepared for that. They got along great and I never had to walk them all at once because we have a big yard. It I had to walk them it would have been hard because the energy levels were very different. My old girl was pokey, she was 12 so couldn't keep up with the younger ones. We do take them for walks now and they do great. I tried the coupler but didn't have a lot of luck with it.

I have 2 white boxers, my boyfriend wants to get another boxer, we love them but live in large apartment and they get plenty of exercise. I just think it might be too much with 3 boxers, or triple the fun. I don't know about getting another boxer. I would definitely get another one if I lived in a house.

I had two when I lived in a townhouse and three now that I have a house. If you plan on walking three, they better be well trained or you better have some pretty muscular arms!!

I still take mine two at a time, as if they saw a bunny, squirrel, bird, I would probably be picking rocks out of my knees and elbows for weeks! (remember those scrapes  when you were young and fell off you bike)

I love having three, and do not notice the extra expense and work, but my husband kindly points it out to me if I have to go out of town and he is left with them! It is not for everyone. I promised my hubby this would be my once in a lifetime, so sadly when we have to say goodbye to one, it will be two from here on out. For now, I am loving every minute of it.

I have 3 Boxers in a 1100 sq ft home. It's crowded but comfy.;) They have all had obedience training and are still taking classes. I walk all 3 together w/ no problem. When we are approaching other people or dogs I give the heel command. All 3 smoosh closly together and heel by my side. After we have passed I give the command "Alright". All 3 spread back out. It's simple.;)

three squishy faces!

I have three boxers...two 10 mos. old pups (brothers) and one five year old male ...If I had my way, I would have two more!!!! It is an incredible amount of work and yes, I've noticed the expense, but I love it just the same. I am lucky in that I have a huge backyard and also a 30 acre field behind my home. I have attempted to take all three by myself out for walks on leashes-what a workout! The oldest is very well trained, but the two pups wear me out!!!I have been training the two pups and they are doing very well but once they see a squirrel look out!!! I also have a coupler for the two, but they seem to really hate it! I'm hoping with time, they will like it more. Anyway, if you decide to get three, be prepared for lots of "activity" and lots of work, but also that much more love and kisses!

We have three - they are each 2 years apart, but we live in the country in a 2,550 sf home with 6.55 acres of land and 150 acres of logging trails behind our house. We do not "walk" our dogs as we just let them out in the yard with us or we have a 135 foot dog run that we put them out on one at a time first thing in the am and right before bed (or when it is raining so we don't get wet with them - and boy are they quick)

It is an extra expense, and a lot more work - especially at bath time. My husband says never again, but I would do it in a heartbeat, however we will also be going back to two and I won't budge any lower than that.

good luck with your decision, it is also helpful if there is an age gap, I don't know why, but friends of mine with three close in age have many more problems than we do.

PS the website Dan gave is really good, we are waiting a catalog as I don't order on line to get one for our dog run.

Oh - I do take all three by myself to the vet on leashes and they do fine - they are so excited to be going somewhere it is soooo cute, plus they usually grab eachothers leash and walk eachother.

I had 4 boxers at one time until just over a month ago - more fun than you would believe, but it is an extra expense you have to be prepared for. I'm lucky in that I live in the country - they have a 2 acre back yard and miles of farmland if they get out. I am not able to walk my three young boxers on the leash together by myself (two of them together outweigh me, plus there's an extra one adding her 60 odd pounds of pure strength!) unless it is for a short time like getting them into the vet's from the car. I have found that for my 3 boxers and my sheltie that I probably go through about the same number of cups of food a day as my mother with her golden retriever and her sheltie. Weird, because I free feed! I think having more boxers adds a lot of fun to your life - especially noise! A major playtime in the house is not something you will want to encourage too much; their barking and 'growling' reverberates around my 1250 square foot house until I kick them outside! They really help keep each other in shape - none of mine are overweight at all and they have great muscle tone. You'll get that as well trying to keep up with them!
