Okay, Moab turned 2 in April and slowly over the last few months, he's gotten lazier and lazier. DH and I are starting to wonder if this is just normal growing up or if that's truly what happens and is normal. If we get out a toy or say "outside" he's all about playing but the energy used to be 24/7 and now, he's much more content to snuggle, snooze, lay in the floor, sleep in or just follow us around. I like it, but just want to make sure its normal. Is this that "magic switch" everyone told me would flip?

May be nothing other than feeling lazy as the warm weather hits, but...My boy turned 2 in March and was diagnosed shortly after with hypothyroid disease. If Moab is showing any of the other symptoms, you may want to get him checked. Harley had the extreme lethargy (did nothing but sleep), the 'tragic face' look and weight gain, but that was it. Our Roxi was way more active than he was, and she just turned 8.
If you think something's not quite right, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Our first boxer, Caesar, was the laziest dog I have ever seen. He would play, but other than that he was more interested in being lazy and having a couch to lay on.

lazy baby....

If your baby is acting normal besides the laziness I would not worry about it. The heat last week did mellow out my three when they were outside. That could be a factor. Keep an eye out though for other changes that may indicate a problem.
My babies are 1.5 and 2.5 years old. Because my hubby and i work different shifts the dogs sleep from 11pm-noon. With the exception of a potty break around 6am. They love snuggling in bed with each of us. They do make up for their long sleeps when they run and carry on in our field.

Blaze was a very laid back, lazy dog. We always used to say he must have been a Great Dane in a previous life.

Lance is so lazy and is only a year old. Sure he likes to play and run, but I'd say he spends the majority of his day on the couch. He's not too difficult to find :D

Based on what you guys have said, it sounds like this is normal. His eating habits haven't changed, he hasn't gained or lost weight and other than the lazy part, has been completely normal. Its just so nice now that he's not a complete spaz all evening long!

Beau is the laziest boxer I've ever seen. People are always shocked when I tell them I have a lazy boxer. He does like to take a romp around the backyard or go for a walk but he'd prefer to curl up in my bed and snooze. I just think the activity level varies from boxer to boxer.

our GDOGS will be 3 in august and he is still lighting the fires as he goes from the time we get up til bed time but when its bed time i dont think a bomb blast could move him as he is the first one to bed and the first one to start snoring LOL!!!!!!!!,i say enjoy it but keep a eye on him for any other signs.

Maxwell is more layed back than Riley. I guess you could tell from my other posts. Riley could go 24-7 but Max is just happy to lay and sleep. He does get up and go also but not as much as the hulligan.

I think they are so different. Keep an eye on him. You will know if he is not acting normal for him.
