I will be at Petco when it opens in the morning. I am always looking for something Caesar cannot destroy. He is really an aggressive chewer. Sometimes when I think I've found something it's just him tricking me--he lets it "live" for a few months then one night he just decides it's time to destroy it. So far the only thing that's made it more than 6 months is his Air Dog tennis type stick and a Jolly Ball Teaser ball (thank you again Thomas Liggin for the recommendation).

We must be really cheapos here in New Zealand because for years my dogs have had the "tire bite".
Ours costs us not one cent and is simply the old bicycle tyres when they no longer do the trick on the kids bikes.:D

Sometimes I even allow them the inner tube for a bit of supervised tug of war.
Because its soooooo stretchy it dosnt cause dental alignment problems like rope tugs can.

Okko who has already destroyed 2 perfectly good wheelbarrow tyres , which also happened to be still attached the barrow, loves anything rubber .

Another toy which has proven to be durable for Indy and Ava anyway is the Holee Roller. They come in two sizes. The smaller one will bounce a bit while the larger one collapses upon itself and resumes its shape without bouncing.

They enjoy carrying them around and will play a bit of tug-o-war. Ava will not tug with the same enthusiasm as Indy at the moment. I suspect that will change. I've know people whose dogs have had all out tug-o-war games and it has remained intact.

For those whose dogs can destroy a tire biter, your dog would probably shred these since they dont have any fabric in them.

Okay, I broke down and bought one for Joe. He LOVES it! I even put kibble inside the rim and it becomes a new game. It keeps him busy for a long time...and that's a good thing!:D

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up with the Tirebiter. My hubby noticed a huge hole Ginger chewed thru this tire. She has only had it 2 months. I took it away from her so she does not swallow any pieces. I felt bad, but better safe than sorry. Just be careful anyone who has a tirebiter. I am disappointed since it obviously is destructable.

I'll give this a try also. Max is an incredible chewer!!!! The Air Kong (tennis ball only dumbell shaped) has the end almost chewed off of it, it's 2 months old. The ONLY toy that Max has not been able to destroy is the Black kong (hydrant shaped) and a jolly ball. Everything else just is temporary, gone in no time flat. Thanks for the idea and we'll also keep an eye out for holes.

Linda, your girl must be quite the chewer! And I thought Sam was bad. So, far Sammy's tire is still doing great. Lucky me. :)

Barron initially liked his tire-biter, but now he ignores it. rolleyes:

He prefers balls of all kinds and loves to play with his large-sized Hol-lee ball (with a tennis ball stuffed inside); teaser ball, Boingo ball, and just a plain ole' tennis ball.:)

My best friend had one for her GSP, Katie, before she passed away & she would carry that thing everywhere. In fact, Kerry buried it with Katie. The only drawback was when she would fling it around it left black scuff like marks on the wall
