I really felt like I was handling Rachel and Leo's death very well, considering it was so close to the holidays (and I really DON'T like the holidays) and all! I found out today just exactly what I have been doing with all of my grief (besides crying).....I've been shoving it in my mouth and packing it on my BUTT!!! This is completely unacceptable for me! In March of 2002 I weighed in at 218lbs (at only 4ft 11in) so I went on a major lifestyle change (I hate the word diet) I started watching my cals. and fat intake and started an exercise routine, by October of the same year I had lost 113lbs leaving me at a happy weight of 105!! Today I went to donate blood...stepped on the scales....and BOOM it hit me right in the face 130lbs!!! I guess I hadn't noticed (or cared), I realized I had been down in the dumps and was wearing nothing but exercise outfits (and odviously not for exercising ) and sweats everyday so I guess It didn't really sink in that my clothes were a little bit tighter than they used to be...I asked my hubby why he didn't say anything and his wonderful answer was.."I have felt that you were a little too small so having you put on a little bit of weight has been nice!!! Oh and you got some of your T&A back!!" I could not believe he said that...I was a D cup when we met and after 4 kids, a very healthy DD cup when I lost weight they were the first thing to go...all the way to A cup, but come on I worked my butt off (literally) to be that small. I will admit that I miss them...was even contemplating augmentation....but that will now have to wait as I now have 25lbs to lose! As for the A part of T&A my nick name in school was "bubble butt" (which I of course hated) so losing that has not bothered me at all, LOL. So is anyone else going on a "lifestyle change" for the New Year? Wow, I didn't realise this was so long till now. Thanks for reading.

I'm so sorry for your loss...I can't even imagine dealing with what you have had to go through.

I eat when I get stressed which has not worked at well for me. I have a really high stress/pressure job, just built a house and we've been trying to conceive for a year. We are at the point now where we are going to a reproductive endicrinologist....this is been the hardest thing to deal with. I've put on 20 lbs in the past 1.5 months, no to mention the 40 the past couple years.

I'm so not used to this...used to be really althetic and now not at all. I started WW on monday and have been working out regularly the past couple months. My goal is to be back to me by September.

Congrats on your previous weight loss, that is really impressive and in such a short amount of time, I have no doubt that you'll succeed in no time at all.

Wow! That's a lot of weight you lost. Congratulations. I said I was going through a lifestyle change too, with weight loss but it hasn't been too successful. I enjoy my food too much and the last time I lost weight, I had to pretty much stop caring about food. That way, it didn't matter if I had a salad. Now, when I think about eating a salad, I feel like I'm being robbed of something. However, if I lost it before, I can do it again, and so will you. Again, congratulations :)

I'm just the opposite-when I'm stressed I can't eat at all. After coming off Prozac 2 years ago I lost about 25 pounds, and my DH feels the same way about the T&A! He says Spanish guys like big butts, and that was the first to go! Oops! Good luck with your lifestyle change, I'm sure you'll be fine, just don't stress over it!

Wow Trish...you have lost quite a bit in a short time!! I was wondering how you have been making out since the terrible loss of Rachel and Leo.
I too have lost 72lbs since last January and only because I suffer from Acid Reflux Disease and vomit off at least 10lbs with each bout of it!! I now weigh 127lbs and am quite happy with that, but it's a terrible way to lose weight! On Dec. 23rd I was called back into the doctors office to be told that my cholestrol level is through the roof (norm is 4 and mine is 9.5!!). I have been put on Lipitor and have to see a heart specialist this month on the 25th. Since I am not overweight, and don't eat bad foods because of the Reflux, I am being told that I may have Genetic Heart Disease. Both sides of my family have heart troubles, and my father passed away at the age of 58 from a massive heart attack! :( So I am going through a MAJOR lifestyle change right now as well and am going to have to really watch what I eat and how I handle stress.
You did a great job the first time you lost all that weight...and you did it the right way! You can do it again...I'm sure of it! Don't stress over it though, and I'm pretty sure your DH still loves your T&A as long as he's still getting some TLC! ;) Good luck!

Trish - I was wondering how you were doing. Please don't beat yourself up about the weight gain. You went thru a very tragic ordeal & with the holidays so soon after it would have caused anyone to gain a little weight. Good Luck with your lifestyle change.

I congratulate you on your weight loss. Don't worry about losing the pounds... I was losing weight and running 2 miles a day, doing 100 situps 50 pushups and day and found out I was a month pregnant and was told to stop automactically but the OB... I now can do brisk walks but I was like.. I have to start all over again... But girl you sound like you are doing well... Just take your time and don't starve yourself... Workout with a plan that works for you and stay away from Fad diets... Drink lots of water and green tea... Cleans you out... Take care of yourself and you will see... You have done it once you can do it again

Congrats on losing so much weight before! Thats wonderful! And dont stress too much about your small gain...at least its a small number that can be much easier to conquer than 100lbs...

I have also been on a "lifestyle change" for a little over a year now...In the past I became obsessed with my weight and I just was not happy with myself at all...I am 5'2'' and I weighed 143...which was my highest weight in my life. Its not that high of a weight, but for me it was...and it was just killing me. But in Oct. of 2003 I joined a gym and forced myself to work out 5 times a week and I even counted my calories in a little journal I kept...and after a little over a year I have managed to get myself down to 120. I would like to lose 5 more pounds by this summer, but If I cant its not really that big of a deal....because my goal weight was 120. My normal weight throughout high school and after had always been about 135ish...so I am so happy to be at 120...

My hubby just bought me a treadmill a few weeks ago so that I dont have to go to the gym when its crappy out...the only time I can go is 5:30am! So I am loving having the treadmill...so I can sleep in and run in the evenings!!

Anyhow keep up the good work and Im sure that you will be able to get off your small gain. You lost so much before, this should be like a small stone in your way. Just give it a kick :)

*hugs*

I'd not worry about it too much - you certainly have a very good reason! And it's a small number - you've conquered more in the past, you should do fine.

Can I just say that I *LOVE* your hubby? I hope you gave him a huge hug and kiss for that one! (Does he have any single brothers?)

A year and a half ago, I was somewhere around 190 - on 5'3. I've lost about 50 pounds so far (in addition to another 190 pounds of ex-boyfriend), but I still want to peel off another 20 or so. I don't want to be too thin - but I'm still not quite comfortable where I am. For some reason, that first 50 happened really easily for me, so now I'm kind of stuck where I am - haven't lost anything for a month or so. I was sick for a long time, then had a lot going on in my life and just wasn't making it out for runs or to yoga. Now, I have no reason to be skipping my healthy lifestyle things.

I am just guessing with these numbers - I don't actually own a scale, I just go by one clothing size = approx 10 pounds. I really really want to be a size 4, I never have been before!

It's ok! It's a minor setback compared to what you have accomplished, and you recognized the problem and can get back on track. That's the important part. :D

I don't feel I am overweight, but the last few months I haven't been taking care of myself very well. Now that I am almost completed my thesis (yay!) I have a lot more time to think about eating right, getting back to yoga, and we just bought a new elliptical. This is my year... I am going to get out of school forever, find a great job and settle my life this year. Getting healthy is just part of it!
