    Cancer returned in spleen

Hugo has experienced two years of off and on chemo and he's had radiation treatments for a sub-dermal hemangiosarcoma on his elbow in 2010. This was his 3rd cancer-related surgery. He's earned some retirement.

    Cancer returned in spleen

Hugo has never had any heart problems before but they think he reacted to the anthesia with arrythmia due to his age. He's ok now but I think its just another sign that he's had enough treatment.

    Cancer returned in spleen

I'd hoped that Hugo's cancer experience was going to be limited to his leg but the doctors found a tumor on his spleen yesterday. His red cell count has been low for a couple of weeks so the doctors did more tests all they say right now is that its some type of sarcoma with spindle cells. The...

    B cell lymphoma tumor.

So sorry to hear.. My Hugo was diagnosed with sub-dermal hemangiosarcoma in 2009 and just had his spleen removed today due to some type of spindle cell sarcoma. :( Radiation treatment is expensive. Hugo's was over $3000 and would've been over 4K except we took him to treatment and back...

    Baby gone. Puppy here.

This is my 1st time on BW in months so I just found out about Cami. I am SO SORRY. I've been sitting at work, everyone asks why I'm crying. :( Glad you found Raine! She's a very lucky little girl with a great Boxer mommy! :)

    Focal seizure....any experience?

might be head tremor If it's literally just her head shaking every time, she may have idiopathic head tremors. It's common in Boxers and several of us here, myself included, have experienced this. I think there are some videos on Youtube of a dog having head tremors. Google it and see if...

    Hugo has cancer

Update on Hugo...1/21 Hugo had his 3rd Radiation treatment today and he's adjusting very well. I was worried after the 1st one, the Oncology student said he took a while to fully wake up but the anethesiologists adjusted his dose and by today's treatment he was awake and we were out the door...

    Weird growth/bump on rear leg?

Anything that doubled in size that fast is worth checking out, especially if you have an older Boxer. Found a lump on mine that went from undetectable to the size of a ping pong ball in 4-6 weeks, turned out to be cancer. Not to scare you, Hugo also has plenty of little bumps that are nothing...

Millie has had surgery today on tumour.

Poor Millie! Glad her surgery went well but I hate to hear that she's having such a hard time. I know what you're going through. My 8 yr old baby, Hugo, just had a soft tissue sarcoma tumor removed 12/30. The biopsy result was undifferentiated sarcoma, they couldn't remove enough to get...

    yeast in paws

Might sound crazy but get a tube of Monistat (or generic) yeast infection cream at the drug store...the same kind women use. Hugo has allergies so he has always licked and chewed his feet. The first time, the vet gave us topical cream. The ingredients were exactly the same as the stuff I...

    Update on Hugo's cancer

Hugo starts radiation 1/19 After speaking with Hugo's Oncologist, Dr Uhri, and the Radiation Oncologist at OSU, we decided to go with traditional (low-dose) Radiation Therapy. Both drs recommended this direction as the best treatment option for Hugo's type of Cancer. I've been googling it a...

    Update on Hugo's cancer

Spoke with the Oncologist tonight for the biopsy results. She said it's a Grade 2 Soft Tissue sarcoma. They still don't have a definitive answer as far as what type of sarcoma but she said they reported seeing some ugly cells that made them diagnose it as Stage 2. She is going to have...

    Hugo has cancer

Surgery went really well... Hugo came through surgery and was awake and alert when they called us. The surgeons were able to get cleaner margins than they thought they could, the elbow doesn't leave a lot of room so we are thrilled by that! They still think he will need some radiation to...
