    Crate issues

I really thought this would get better:(. We have had Annie for about 3 months and she is 10 months old. We have used a crate ever since we got her and she has spent every night there and at least a short period each day. Initially she did pretty well, but lately things have moved backwards...

    Crate Question/Doomed

I think a crate is a must whenever you are not in the house. Our Annie, while not overly excited about her crate, really does not mind. She spends her nights in there as well and does fine. When a boxer has free reign of the house she may find something of interest that is harmful and could get...

    Counter surfing

Our pup Annie, 8 month old brindle female, seems to have an issue with getting things off of our kitchen counters when we are not around. To date that has been 2 cups of coffee (not too hot), bowl of sugar, cookie batter, bacon, mail (on several occasions), ink pens, etc. This only seems to...

    Is our baby wierd?

Your comment about a puppy mill is interesting. I was just speculating on that point about our Annie. We got her from a dog pound about a month and a half ago and the vet figures her to be about 8 months old. She weighs 37 pounds. Compared to my son's fully registered female who at 17 months...

    Tail dock sizes

I have been wondering about this issue as well. When we got Annie she was 7 months old and had a longer tail, probably about 4 to 4 1/2 inches long. I thought it looked kind of funny, but in no way took away from her good looks. Nice to know she isn't alone:).

Why'd you name your boxer that?

Actually we changed our new boxer's name 4 times in 4 days. Finally we settled on Annie, because she was an orphan picked up by the humane society (Little Orphan Annie). Her most recent name prior to that was Darla because she was a "little rascal" (Darla is the girl in Little Rascals). So, when...

    Good play...bad play

Okay, I have tried the "walking away" strategy, but she just thinks that is another invitation to play and proceeds to try and tackle me by wrapping both of her front legs around mine and then bites at my pants as I walk. I actually can't help but laugh, and that may be part of the problem. She...

    Greetings from Central Kentucky

Hello from the rolling bluegrass hills of central Kentucky. I am a new boxer owner as we just adopted Darla last week. She is a beautiful brindle female with a black mask, natural ears and a cropped tail. We are estimating her age at about 7 months. I actually got her from an animal shelter who...

    Good play...bad play

Our 7 month old brindle female loves to play, boy does she love to play:) However, when she plays she likes to "mouth" you continually. Your hands, arms, legs...it doesn't matter. I am concerned about 2 things. First of all, I am afraid she may become aggressive and a biter. Second, it hurts...
