I don't go in there much either because it just hurts. I feel bad for them and wish I could read & leave some nice comments but it just makes me feel so sad. :(

I think it's a dominance thing. Dozer tries to do that to Coco and she will push him off of her with her feet and then snip at him. He will usually leave her alone for awhile after that.

Thanks for the input. I did not realize that is considered a threatening gesture to a dog. I will share this with my family so we can be more considerate to Dozer about that. That's interesting and good information to know not only for your own dogs but when your interacting with someone...

Any dogs I have ever been around, even Coco don't mind it but he seems to. Maybe like yours he just doesn't care for it. He loves to have his neck, back & tummy rubbed.

Dozer ducks his head away from us when we try to pet him there. He doesn't mind us petting his back or anything else but ducks his head away every time you reach for it. Is that what being headshy is? If so, what would cause that? He has been that way since we brought him home at 10 weeks...
