Try to use a higher quality food. If the food has too much grain or meal they can't produce a firm enough stool to empty the glands themselves.
I hope things get better for you soon. Keep us informed about how you make out.
We have the same type of bump
Hi,
We just had Chloe to the vet for the same thing. She is 17 months old now but when she was just a small pup she jumped up under my kitchen table and banged her head. She had a very small scab there for a few days and then it was a scar. Recently the scar...
Welcome from Elmer
Hi Abbey's Mom
Welcome to Boxer World! I am from Salem County also and like you I am beginning to see more Boxers in my area than ever before.
You will love this site and the members too. Keep in touch.
My Chloe is a fawn, natural female. She is 16 months old.

My husband just put fertilizer on our flowers this weekend. It looks like
little yellow balls. He threw the bag away but thought it was one of the Miracle Grow series. Not much help but it's all I have .
I was chatting with my next door neighbor last night(amazing since they usually won't give us the time of day). She told me that she had been to the doctor for dandruff and dry scalp symptoms recently and the Dr. referred her to a dermotologist. It seems she got some sort of dermatitis from her...
My Chloe did sort of the same thing. My vet told me to let her get dirt in it
and that would stop the bleeding. It was so gross. I was a little worried about that advice but we did and guess what? It stopped the bleeding in about ten minutes. He said that animals in the wild don't have band...
We use Frontline Plus for our two dogs. We were having a serious problem with ticks a few weeks ago but since applying the Frontline we haven't seen another tick! It kills them at all stages. Good luck because trying to get ticks off of a wiggling boxer is like trying to catch an ant blindfolded!!
Defineately go with the Blue Buffalo. I purchased it from PetSmart for the same reason. I couldn't find Wellness or Canidae in our area either.
My female fawn had dry, coarse hair that I thought was the way it was supposed to be (she is our first short haired dog). After just one week on Blue...
Your mention of the County Commission reminded me of something we have available in our area. Our county mosquito commission will come spray your property for mosquitos (we just have to call and request it). I am going to check with them to see if they do anything for ticks. I will also check...
Cough syrup for kennel cough
My 5 month old just got over Kennel cough. She picked it up at the vet's
office when she was being spayed. It generally takes 7-10 days from exposure to the time you notice the cough. My vet said if the coughing is excessive that Chloe could be given cough syrup...
Just a heads up. I have found three ticks on Chloe in two days.
We live in Southern New Jersey.
I thought that it would still be too early for them but I guess not.
Time for a daily combing I guess.
Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I did a search for kennel cough and Chloe seems to have all of the symptoms. Chloe has received all of her shots, doesn't that take care of kennel cough?
She just got her last set a week before the surgery so maybe it isn't effective yet.I...
Chloe (4 mo.) was spayed last Friday. The office told me that if she started coughing on the fourth day to call them. This Friday (1 week later)she started coughing like she had something in her throat. I checked her throat as far as I could. She is eating and drinking normally. I called the...
