Is my dog mixed or purebred???

I'm no expert, but if he is mixed, he's certainly more boxer! What a cutie!

    What foods ARENT Recalled

Fromm's is a great food that uses only human grade ingredients. All their dog foods are prepared in plants fit for human foods. We rotate around between the different flavors, and Johnny loves them!

    Limping- Vets Have No Clue

Johnny's limp still comes and goes, and we still have no idea what's causing it. Thankfully, it goes more than it comes! When it does appear, it's after he's been laying for a long time, or if he plays real rough. The vet is leaning toward arthritis, but he's so young I'm just not sure.

    Buttons the Boxer

Is your vet willing to set up a payment plan with you? If you've been a good customer, usually you can work out a plan. I have noticed the vets around here offer a special type of credit for expensive dog care. Does your vet offer something like that? Poor Buttons. We send her our love.

    Really red paws??

Sores and redness in between the toes are a sign of allergies. Or, you could be onto something about the salt used for the ice/snow. You should take him to the vet to see if they diagnose allergies. If it's deemed to be the ice/snow salt, you could buy booties for him. Johnny is currently...

Sore Spots Around My Boys Mouth

Johnny had these sores around his lips also, and I dismissed them as teenage acne. They did seem to "flare up" when he played rough or messed in some rough weed patches. I would have to wipe his face with a rag occassionally because they would bleed. However, they all just cleared up one day...

    Limping- Vets Have No Clue

Oh dear! I have no suggestions because our Johnny is doing the exact same thing! Same leg too! It started a week ago Sunday. We determined that it probably wasn't broken, but after four days of him "getting better" and then going back to limping, we took him to the emergency clinic. The vet...

    Swollen.....

In my experience, yes, the humping stops after a neuter, although I know other people have had different experiences.

    What are these spots/sores?

Johnny is a rescue, adopted 1/20/07. He hasn't had a vet check yet because we are still narrowing down our choices (we've lived here a short time, and had a bad experience ast fall with the vet we'd chosen - we're been choosy and selective). Can you tell me what these spots might be? He has...

    Dissappointment

Why don't you adopt a rescue animal instead? There are many dogs out there who were bought as puppies from people who thought they wanted a dog, and then realized they couldn't afford it, weren't stable enough, didn't have the patience to train it, or just lost interest all together. Point...

    lap dog?

I'm pretty sure all boxers are lap dogs! We have an 80lb boy who just has to be on top of someone. This morning he was on my lap, and I was telling him to "get down", and instead, he tried to climb onto the back of the couch and onto my shoulders to relax!! Can you say "HELP!"? lol I have...

Boxer sizes - Weight and Height

I am not certain how much our Johnny weighs, but I measured him tonight and it appears that he is 27" at the withers! I estimate he weighs about 80lb., but we will find out for sure after he has his vet visit this weekend. :)

    Best toy for aggressive chewer?

A Cuz is a good choice for chewers. It's like a ball made of very hard plastic, but it has legs and squeaks. It's very tough. Johnny hasn't made a dent in it yet.
