Zues & Me

Hi everyone!

I stop by here once in awhile, but have not participated much. I like the new format, and continue to be amazed at how many boxer lovers there are. Zues is my first. He is mostly fawn with white socks & chest - slight mask. He has cropped ears.
I have some questions, if someone has time to answer that would be great. 1) Why am I absolutly nuts for this dog! He has me rapped. 2) Has anyone else ever been attacked for having ears cropped? 3) While my boxer is Greek, what is really the difference between German & American Boxers? 4) Never seen such an agile dog. I have looked in to agility and search & rescue, sadly not enough time for such commitments. Any other ideas? Thanks and Yashoo!

Hi Zeus' mom! Welcome! Where in California are you? I am in San Diego and I have a female flashy fawn with cropped ears. Ear cropping is a no-win argument now and again here but I think most from the board are uncropped.

There is a forum on Agility, maybe you can ask there about ideas, we just take Ruby to wear her out to the beach whenever we get the chance but have not pursued agility. There is a place, though that I know of near me... if you live close for agility. As for the love of the breed, my husband and I agree we will own no other breed. They are truly amazing!

Beautiful name! We are looking at puppies and willing to get two new ones very soon, I have been thinking of naming my future puppy "Hyperion" which was the Titan of light, an early sun god, son of Gaea and Uranus, amazing history and impressive legends..

Anyway, your question number 3) the difference between the German and the American boxer, I won't be able to say much about their personality but the difference in the way they look is very impressive. Here is a url for you:
