Zoey is 3 months old and wants to chew on us and our cabinets and furniture. We try to encourage her to chew on her toys and her nylabone but she has no interest in them unless we are playing fetch with her. I have been searching for a safe bone that she would really like to lay in the floor and chew on but everything I have seen looks like a choking hazard. Is there anything out there that is completely safe?

How about a raw bone? You can go to a local butcher or meat market and find them. A lot of them save bones just for dogs, ours does. Just get one big enough she can't swallow whole. I have never had one of mine dogs swallow one though, they just chew on them. :) I also use bully stix. They are good, and I've never had an issue with them. Just get one that is "odor free". If you have a local pet store they should have some. If they don't say "odor free" on them ask the clerk if they are. You can also order them on the internet. Also, a good alternative is a kong. You can stuff it full of whatever you want and it will keep them occupied for hours. You can find many threads about them and lots of great ideas on what to stuff them with here on Boxer World.

You can look at the Galileo chew toy by the Nylabone company. It is pretty tough. Mali, my little toy wrecker, liked it a lot when we first got it, but she is a little bored with it now, though.

Do you have a variety of shapes of the Nylabone? They have dental dinosaurs they have souper bones they have regular bones, they have the Galaleo(sp?) bone, they have a ton of different shapes and textures. I have almost one of each and find my dog chewing on different ones at different times. Just keep with it, if you see her chewing on something she shouldn't tell her "no" (or whatever your negative command is) and give her something she CAN chew on. Given time she should learn. Also there are Hurley bones which are very very tough (you can do a search online), Kongs, Wobbly Nobbly, Tire Biter by Paw Tracks, these are a few of the things I have that my pup LOVES.
