Okay, about 2 weeks ago Zeus started trying to bite his tail everytime I come home. He chases it non-stop until I give him my full attention. It has gotten to the point that he makes it bleed now. The vet tells me it is because he has separation anxiety. That put him on medicine that makes him sleep all the time. Does anyone have any advice other than medication?

Mine has separation anxiety too. But he hasn't done anything like that to himself.
I just started reading the book- The Dog Listener by Jan Fennell. I saw it on this site before. Makes you start to think like a dog. She has good pointers in it. There is a chapter on separation anxiety.
Good luck. At times it seems that owning a boxer can be a challange. But anything is worth having a boxer as your best friend.
