My poor Zeeta came in the house Sunday night just limping on her right front foot. She would not stop licking it. My husband and I looked at her foot all over and could not see anything wrong. But she continued to limp the rest of the night and next morning. My husband took her to the vet first thing Monday morning. They did an Xray and found out tbat she broke her middle toe on her foot. They put on a soft cast and gave her Rimadyl for pain and inflamation. It will have to be on three weeks. He just said to keep it dry. We have to put a plastic bag over it before she goes out when its wet. To top things off it snowed here in Dallas yesterday, so now we have to put the bag on every time we go out. She loves the snow, but does not like the plastic bag. Poor thing she just got through getting here ears done and next it will be time to spay her. I think she will dislike going to the vet.

On which foot? Do you know how she broke it? Snow in Big D ?
Sorry about Zeeta's foot. is it limiting her mobility any more than a limp? Give her some good TLC she'll be just fine..
:)

Get Well Soon Zeeta!

Hopefully she will start feeling better soon. I agree with the comemnt and the vet though, after all is said and done she will not want to see a vet for a while. I bet you won't either will all those bills!!

Poor Zeta.
Try putting a baby sock over the plastic bag (I know, sounds like a lot of stuff on her foot) it should muffle that crinkly sound the plastic bag makes and not draw her attention to it so much. Obviously, the little sock is going to get wet and dirty.....but it won't be forever. They often come in packs of 3 pairs - you'll have 6 socks to use (I mean...what do you have to do in your spare time but wash socks for the dog?)

Zeta's broken toe

Rocky had a broken toe this past summer. He also had a soft cast which the vet changed every week He had his on for 5 weeks. We we went to the park in the AM when the grass was wet I put on 1 of his winter booties on his foot. I'm sure Zeta will weather (no pun intended) this quite well. I'm sure it's quite a bummer to have this in the winter with all the snow and mud and such. I hope she's well soon.
