I started Piper on a 1/2 of a chicken yesterday. She was thrilled & ate plenty, burying the rest for later & then redigging, reburying..having the best time! BUT this morning the house smells like a cattle farm. Her gas would knock you down! Boxer gas is bad but this seriously rotten. She is banned to the backporch today 'til this passes (all of the windows are up! LOL!)

Well, I am laughing because it said on different websites that I used to research BARF that one of the perks is "no doggy odor" they failed to tell you it would now smell like you had a cow in your home!

From what I understand once the body adjusts you should have very few stinkys and the poops breakdown naturally in a couple of days. Hang in there! LOL

After being on raw for a few days, my pups toots are usually fragrance free:) I also give plain yogurt too so that helps. Their burps sometimes smell dead though:LOL: I can deal with it for the benefits of the raw diet. Don't give up, the smell will get less.

 Don't Give up! Rocky & my cats had very few detox issues, but Mia the boston terrier could have been a wind tunnel. She would always look at me in an embarrassed sort of way! And yes the smell almost had me running back for her kibble! Try the yogurt and hopefully her detox stage will pass quickly (no pun intended) :p

We switched over to raw about three weeks ago and haven't had any problems with diarrhea but the gas my two little Bostons had was HORRIBLE! Ellie, our boxer was better than the BT's so you can imagine what my house was smelling like. It has settled down quite a bit, thank god!
Hang in there :)

Any time you make sudden changes in diet regardless of the food you are going to have intestinal issues. If you make the change gradually you won't have as much problem.

[Even on a kibble diet, yogurt has solved the smell issue in our house. The toots are few and odorless.]
