Destroying Stuffed Toys
Dillon destroys the stuffed dog toys within 2 hours of getting them now. His favorite was one that I found at Target that was funny colors like purple and yellow I think. It was a funny looking guy with a stuffed head and body and then it had rope for arms and legs that he could tug on with stuffed hands and feet. Even had some hair that stuck up to chew on. The stomach of the guy was a circle of a different color. Well when he found out that it was a weak spot, he would tug at the stomach until it opened up like an autopsy!
We heard a while back, probably on this board somewhere...about how dog toys don't go thru the inspections and quality assurance that childrens toys do. He has a Beanie Buddie (okay several of them) that he takes around the house shakes tugs at and loves to death and it takes him months to even think about destroying them. He has managed to pull off their eyes and nose after quite a few months, but the stuffing is in tact. And to be honest, they weren't much more expensive than the dog toys I had been getting him and he loves them just as much. They don't squeak, but they do have some of the little beans in them that make noise when he shakes them.
Otherwise, just a squeaky ball will always do the trick. And he LOVES the Bumble Ball. We will turn it on and it goes crazy. Once he catches a nub of it in his mouth he will lay on it and growl. It's hysterical. We found him laying his face on it, I think to get a massage. Boxers are sooooo funny!
