One of our friends has a little yippy, foo foo dog. (I'm not sure what she is) Every time Buddy is outside at their house, she comes to the door and barks non-stop. My bf always teases his friend by telling Buddy, "look it's your little stuffy chew toy". Buddy wouldn't hurt her but it's funny to watch their faces when he says this. Tim (the friend) thinks Buddy is the coolest, most layed back dog. He never barks back at her either and that really impresses him.

When Rogue was really small we walked passed a puppy Pit (it was sooo cute), anyway Rogue (being all legs) pounced on it - We laughed & commented to Rogue - Make the most of that, that puppy will have you when it grows up.

He He.

People just say things like that in general, that's all. :)

This thread is too funny. My parents have a Scottish Terrior and she truly is a TERROR. I have the scars to prove it. They also have a boxer named Lola. One day they had a phone repairman out and he asked my sister if Lola would bite and she told him no but that little black one will. It was too funny.

Kosmo's Mom

I have had a similar comment before about Kosmo.
We were out walking & there was a cocker spaniel in a yard with its owner.
I could tell that both dogs would have liked to have met each other but judging by the look I was getting from the dogs owner she wasn't too keen on the idea. She has every right to think whatever she wants but there was no need for her comment of "No, no that dog will have you for breakfast".
I stopped & said, "No actually he is very friendly, the worst thing he would do is lick your dog".
Why is it because my dog isn't a lap dog that he must be mean (no offense to lap dogs, I love all dogs).

My Samson said:
It was a beautiful day here so I couldn't wait to get home and take Samson for a walk in the park. So, I get home and get Samson in the car and we go to the park. Of course, we always walk by other people with dogs. Today, we passed by these two guys with two Scottish Terriers (I think that's the correct name.) Anyway, as we walk by his dogs (as well as Samson) sort of make a bee-line for one another (which is normal) and the guy makes a comment to his dogs and says 'you guys don't want to mess with him'.

I was a little annoyed by this comment. Do boxers look mean?!

I don't think Samson has a mean bone in his body!
He probably doesn't have a mean bone in his body. But some people think boxers look indimidating, especially with cropped ears. I always thought they were regal looking but not scary. Go figure.

I would have said, "Yeah, I wouldn't either. He just ate a Great Dane for lunch and now he is looking for two pesky Scottish Terrors:))) for desert."

i myself am guilty of saying that phrase to chloe, i was at a park one day and walking the girls and a man came by with a standard poodle who if he had his way would have ripped into chloe and maxi and i said the the girls"there is no way you want to mess with him" i didnt mean anything by it, it was just a comment to the girls as if i was talking to another person. luckily the man didnt take offense and apologized for his dogs behavior and we went on our way, maybe he didnt mean it to be mean. i know i didnt.

There is nothing worse then a little ankle biting terrier, every boxer i have ever come across has never done anything but wagged there stump, some times we go out for the day and leave tyson at my mums (he loves going there she spoils him) and whilst out we come across people with Boxers and i always go over to them stick the back of my hand slowly to thier nose so they can get my scent, then i make a right fuss of them, the owner is always surprised by this as they usally say everyone gives the a wide birth and thinks they are aggressive, so i say i dont i have one at home and then spend the next half an hour talking boxers, and when we take tyson with us he trys his hardest to get near other dogs, and you can see the fear on the other dog owners face, so i simply say aloud, come on he dosent want to play with you today, then another time a fella was walking a black lab cross on a lead and tyson was on the front of our house when the guy walked pass tyson went to the dog i said to the owner your alright mate he just wants to say hello so tyson and this dog sniffed each other and with that this dog went for tyson so tyson pinned the dog the owner said i thought you said he wanted to say hello, i said hey mate it was your dog that turned on mine first. cheek of some people.

That's funny. With my girls it's actually the opposite. I usually end up telling my pit and my boxer that they had better not mess with the little dogs! Many times I think the smallest of dogs could eat my dogs alive and mine wouldn't even raise a paw! :)

Something similiar happened to my husband one day as he walked Ali. This guy was parked in a truck and stuck his head out the window and says "I bet she could take a piece out of you" and my husband says back to him "she could if she wanted to" and walked on. When he told me we both laughed and I said that was the right thing to say to that ignorant so and so.
