The praise mentioned is very important! Throw a party is a great idea!! In fact my neighbors thought I was nuts at 5am in my night gown whoo whooing everytime Maxwell did his thing outside.

We took Yogi out every time he woke from a nap. 1/2 after eating or drinking. We tried to get him outside as much as we could. usually every 2 hrs or so. He is 7mths and I would say in the last month maybe 1 or 2 accidents. I think b/c we weren't paying attention and missed the sign. He sleeps all night and I don't let him eat or drink after 7pm.
It does take time but they do get the hang of it.

Pee when he gets in!!!!

I have some trouble with Bageerha 3 months as well. In the morning he is doing really fine, wakes up with me, no pee in his bed, goes to the door and we take a short walk to "his" place in the garden where he both "pee and poo" within 20 seconds. I then prepare breakfast and take him again. Pee once more. So far so good -just brilliant. Then, the rest of the day, he won't do anything outdoors. After an hour and a half outside, playing and walking, he wants to go indoors, tired. First thing he does is to pee and poo all over the place. You can really see outdoors that he is so in need to pee he has a hard time walking. Still he refuses until he gets indoors. If we keep him outdoors he will leak just to make it bearable but not more. He kind of saves it. You can imagine this is frustrating. The wooden floors are slowly starting to crack up in spite of newspapers -which he avoids. Any advice?

yes it is small enough and yes he is being let out every four hours!!! the vet told me that to take the bedding out! it breaks my heart to do that. i just dont think i can. i had him checked out for a uti. he is ok.
he pees in the house all the time as soon as i take my eyes off him. yet he goes outside. but has to go every twenty minutes! my billy is so smart with everything else but not this! he thinks he is king tut and can pee anywhere he wants....:) are male dogs harder to housebreak? billy is about four months old.

It could also be what you use to clean the pee with. If they can still smell where they went, they will go there again. I use "out" from Walmart. You can't use certain products that have ammonia. It attracts them to urinate there. It helped me break Buddy from peeing by the door of his crate.

I am finding my boy Luka goes far more often than the girls, I don't know why. I don't ever take the water away, there is a bowl in the kitchen and a bowl in the garden at all times, I believe they need to be able to drink if they need to. The pups go to bed around 9pm and although there is no water in the crate, the bowl in the kitchen is still down :)

Thanks a lot! I will try this at ounce when I get home. Up until now, we have been cleaning up with a wet cloth, cleaning it with water and then drying the floor with it. Of cource there will be a remaining smell... We have a cleaner for the poo that just could contain ammonia as well... I will check this and keep you posted.
