Are you a vet?

No.

As Lisa suggested, I don't think I would bother with the pototo and the carrot. They really don't need vegetables and they probably won't help. You could try a adding a little pumpkin. A tablespoon per couple of cups of food. This is not the case of more is better, as too much will have the opposite desired effect. In a couple of days you could start adding in your pups regular food. You never said what he ate. If it's not on the WDJ list of foods, now would be a good time to get a new food. :)

Good luck with your boxer. I hope he is on the road to recovery.

Has Your puppy been checked for Coccidia?

Your Puppy sounds very similiar to how sick my boxer was after bringing him home from a petshop, he had Coccidia, and kept vomiting, and wouldn't eat, he had very loose stools, and was very very lethargic, he had to go to a emergency vet and get large doses of a sulpher drug and iv fluids. If your having a problem getting him to drink, try using a squirt bottle, we were squirting fluids in his mouth because he wouldn't drink, you have to be very careful he doesn't get dehydrated.

How is your pup doing? I was thinking about how you said that you stopped the antibiotics. I'm not sure that was a good idea as I think that green poo can indicate that there is an infection going on. Did the vet indicate why he was giving you antibiotics? The thing to remember with antibiotics( as they are way overused) is to never use them with a virus, as they don't work, and I would never use them just in case. :( Also, antibiotic kill off all the good bacteria as well as they bad, so it is always a good idea give natural yogurt when your pup is on antibiotics. A tablesponn a day should be enough.

On the mend

We have duncan back on his Innova Brand Puppy Kibble 100% but he still gets a tsp of yogurt every other meal. He has lots of energy again and his appetite is once again voracious! To celebrate his full recovery, we got him a new squeek ball and a stuffed animal.

I get his kibble from a specialty foods store for animals. It is all 100% Turkey, chicken and lamb. further down the list is herring for Omega 3 & 5. The rest is potato and vegetable and he loves it. There is absolutely no corn, rice or any grains of any type. When he was a pup he was on Nutro puppy and he was having a hard time keeping regular. The vet and the nutritionist agreed we should try another food. Innova also has a canned food line and once a week we put a little canned with his kibble for a treat or when he needs extra food from a hard day of running and wrestling with the other dogs on our street.
