Ok our Daisy has been on Wolf King for about 2 months now. She seems to have to poop alot. Not watery just several times a day. Serious gas that could gag a maggot! It's very loud and actually wakes her up, loL

Does this sound normal or should we maybe change her to something else?

She is getting roughly 4-5 cups a day of the dry. We do sometimes give her some fish or yogurt with it but cut down on the cups of dry. She is 7 months and weighs 50 lbs. Even with what we feed her she wants more. Our vet said to keep food in her bowl b/c he says that f they leave food in their bowls it means they are not getting enough. She is very active with our 4 chldren so she does use alot of her energy up.

HUH??? If they leave food in their bowl they are NOT getting enough? That doesn't make sense.

Dogs that are allowed to "graze" on food all day long sometimes end up with weight issues. They are also more prone to being picky eaters. I would follow the feeding requirements on the bag, split between meals. Monitor the dogs weight and adjust from there. The guidelines are not set in stone and have to be adjusted to each dogs activity level and metabolism.

4-5 cups a day also seems like a bit much to me-mine get about two cups a day (three in the summer when we're more active). The gas might be her tummy not agreeing with the Wolfking, though.

Ok Cami here's where I disagree with you! ;)

I "free feed" my dogs. They get 2 cups of food a day. I give it to them after our dinner & they free feed throughout the day. Their food lasts them all day the next day & sometimes they have a little left when they get fed again the next night. If I only fed them once a day they would eat it all then throw it all up. You do whats best for your particular dog. Whats good for some dogs isn't good for others. They don't gorge themselves at each sitting either, whenever they are hungry & want a little nibble they help themselves.

Personally my dogs did horrible on Wolf King (it has Bison in it & its similar to beef) and and they can't be on Millenium because one is allergic to beef. But they are on Hund-n-Flockin & do wonderful on it. Not too much gas either. We did try Barking at the Moon...OMG they had diarrhea and major major gas!!

I meant that if they don't leave food in their bowl they are not getting enough. She is almost done with the Wolf King so I think we will try the Hund n Flocken. She usually nibbles some in the morning and some in the afternoon and some at night but then sometimes she eats it all at once. Like I said she is very active with the kids, running everyday.

Cooper didn't do well on Wolf King at all but he does beautifully on the Wolf Cub ... there isn't much difference between the foods but there is something and as it has been said before Wolf Cub could be considered an all stages food because it is pretty well balanced.

I remember when I had thought to switch him from cub to king and he was toxic .. and the poor thing had the runs like there was no tomorrow. I would call Solid Gold .. they have great nutritionists that could most likely make a suggestion. Is it something that is constant since you have been on Wolf King or has it only recently changed.

Cooper has a very sensitive tummy, and sometimes even slight changes in his routine can kind of throw him off.
