Will sleeping in bed cause behavior problems?

It makes me feel better to see others let their dogs sleep with them...We tried to have her sleep in her bed on the floor when she was about 4 months old (she had slept with us before then). She's 10 months old now, and sometimes she gets off the bed and sleeps on her chair on her own. She's getting so big and she gets tired of us nudging her when she's sleeping with us, she sleeps elsewhere on her own.

I personally don't see a problem with letting them sleep with you, seems natural to me as they LOVE to be with you and as close as possible:) It's just how Boxers are!

I know what you mean... Rush is about 8 mos now and he is starting to not want to sleep with us on his own terms. We only have a Queen size bed so there isn't all that much room for two people and an 8 mos old. He gets pushed around a bit (me being a kicker at night) and a lot of times he will sleep on his bed because he wants to.

I think that by the time he is 1 yr old or fully grown he may not want to sleep in bed with us cause it will be too crowded.

Lucy is only 9 weeks old and is already sleeping with us. Its the only way she will sleep through the night. she sits by the bed and looks up at you and waits for you to pick her up since she is too small to get on the big bed. She will just curl up next to you and put her little head in your arm.. its so cute. and our other dog is a mixed breed and he sleeps at the bottom of the bed.. Thank god for king size!! lol

I let my katie sleep on the bed with me, i am such a heavy sleeper, i figured by the time she could get up there, she would and i wouldnt notice till morning. i do remember reading once in a book the the head that rests highest on the bed is the dominant person in the house. not sure if it is true, when i had my cat, he slept above my head on the bed and seemed to think he was the head of the household, typical cat behavior though. My katie sleeps just about anywhere on the bed she can wriggle herself into (lots of pillows) but she never trys to sleep above me on the bed. Although, there have been those few mornings i woke up with her asleep right next to me on my pillow. in which case, i just told her she wasnt allowed on my head pillow and pushed her towards the bottom of the bed (not off)
