Will she start to bark at some point?

My little baby girl, Teagan (3 months), hardly barks at all. Really the only time she barks is when we are playing and teasing her with her toys. When people walk by outside she just sits and stares but doesn't make a peep. I was wondering if this was because she is still young, or if maybe she just wasn't wired to bark.

LOL-Chancey never really barked until she was 2. It still takes certain things to make her bark-usually happy things. When she is on "alert" she has a stealth mode which spooks the heck out of me.

My youngest pups are 7 months old, they have just started to bark at people walking by, although they have always barked when playing together. :)

Lola's mum

Lola never used to bark when she was younger but now she happily barks to let us know that someone's outside the fence or at the door :)
I remember the first time she barked, we were shocked
Zeb on the other hand barks for Britain ;)

Bacon is beginning to bark more and more. Sometimes I have to tell him SHHH!! It starts out with a low ruff for a warning, but then he starts howling (picture wooing but louder). He only does it when he hears a noise, i.e. neighbor shutting door. Be careful what you wish for because sometimes they'll start barking at anything!!

I would rather them not bark at people though. It sometimes scares people unless they are warning me. It can be annoying to some people. Bacon has a cute bark, but Maggie's is a little more vicious sounding. DH can't wait for Bacon's to become more "manly". :)

I was really worried about my Boxer, ABBY. I thought she had some type of defect, because she was over five months old before she began to bark. I just knew something was wrong with her. When she finally found out she could, it was became almost non-stop. She seemed to bark at anything that moved, and still does.

Jet very rarely barks, which I think is great. I think he ask barked twice in the 5 months that we have had him

Ya'll are so lucky, my DH says the dog is like everyone else in the house... got something to say about everything! He growls, barks, whines, huffs & even sounds like he is trying to speak chinese. Rufus is very vocal, even when he sleeps (loud snorer). Lately, his new thing is this... we are sitting in the kitchen chatting, Rufus is outside. He comes running into the kitchen, thru the doggie door, right up to us, sits down & lets out one strong roof! We say he is saying "I'M RUFUS!.

Bubbie Roo is 11 months old and I have only heard him bark a few times, but I imagine he will bark more as he gets older. One night I had forgot to put the vacuum in the closet and he must have opened his eyes in the night and saw its outline. Well that was definitely one of the times he barked and I nearly had a heart attack. The sound of his voice raised the hairs on the back of my neck!!. I think I was jumpy the rest of the night!

Sprout hardly barked until she was 10 weeks. Now she barks at mostly anything and everything. It is funny when she barks at you through the screen door if you are not playing with her. She will just keep going until you go out and play with her.
