When we come home Elvis is normally looking out the lounge window and sees us, the time we have gotten to the door he is at the top of the stairs, however sometimes he is uncontrollably shaking. it is horribly to see. The first few times we thought he had done something naughty but found everything to be in place.

He gets the shakes so bad that he lies on the floor with his ears back! I cound understand if he doesnt know it is us coming in but he always see's us from the window!

After a good stroke and alot of praise he calms down, and it doesnt happen everynight. We have never shouted at him when we come in and certainly never hit him.

Any ideas?

It sounds like fear to me, but I don't know for sure. Maybe he's upset from being alone and it takes him a while to calm down once your home?

(((Hugs))) to Elvis.

I know this is going to sound silly, but could it just be uncontrollable wiggles? My two wiggle so much that you'd think they were shaking. Sometimes Lexus is so overcome with wiggles she has to sit down and she's still wiggling!

hahhhahahahah, maybe that's what it is, the wiggles...when we first saw chopper doing the kidney beans we didn't know what was going on...we used to say: "he looks like he is having an epilleptic attack!!!"

later on, after books and boxerworld, we realize it was extreme happiness!!!

they are soooooooo good are showing their emotions...

if it is the shakes, hug him lots!!! maybe he is trying to show you he was afraid alone!

Wiggling like a worm

Judah will actually squat his front shoulders down and have his butt sticking up in the air wiggling like crazy, and if it were not for BW we would have thought it was some sort of fit, and lately he has gotten lazy so he will just lay in his bed and wiggle like crazy. I hope that is all it is with your pup.

I agree...wiggles and happiness!Foreman practically folds in half and tries to walk to get his favorite toy while wiggling and folding at the same time! It's hilarious !:LOL:All that i've heard and read lead me to believe that this breed is highly emotional.Guess you've got a baby that loves youand is happy your home lovicon

Poor little Elvis! I had read somewhere that the ears being back doesn't necessarily mean that they are afraid. It's also a sign of submission, so that could make sense if he's happy to see you and is submitting to you guys as his alphas. What a sweet little guy it sounds like you have!
