Boxer Booster
Clia loves her toys, especially the bright orange street hockey balls I got for her.
She will not fetch and bring them back unless we are on dirt. Picking up the ball from grass and bringing it back seem to be too much trouble.
But on dirt, she chases it down, kicks it around, the comes back, but instead of giving it to me, she lays down, and drops it between her front legs.
I have to steal it from her, but she is ready to chase it again. Obviously Clia knows how to play the game but I don't know the rules!
Today, it was a windy, blustery day, and after about 30 minutes of playing, she took the ball and ran across to the far side of the baseball infield and sat there. If I went over and took the ball and threw it, she'd go to the other side, again. Finally, I started walking to the car, and she charged ahead of me and sat by the rear (her) door. I guess it was too cold and was time to go! Maybe she needs a sweater!
Perhaps when we get Joe, he can teach me. By the way, we are in the process of adopting from Northeastern Boxer Rescue. If we get a boy, we are naming him Joe. My 15 year old daughter thinks "Joe Boxer" is just too cool!
