Mitchell,
It sounds like you have your hands full! Boomer is 9 months old now, and has pretty much settled down. Jackson will settle down soon too. Just make sure you reprimand him when he jumps on people. He needs to know that's not acceptable.

You say he knows how to sit stay, so make sure that he does that when your friends come over to visit. No pats or attention unless he is sitting. It will take some persistence on your part, but eventually he will get the idea. As far as biting your shoes etc you need to teach him off (ie. don't touch, leave it alone, get off). Also when he wants to bite, redirect his attention to something that he is allowed to chew and praise him when he chews on it instead. Obedience classes would be a good idea too if you haven't already taken him.

Remember that boxers have lots and lots and lots of energy and need a lot of exercise. The saying that a tired dog is a good dog, definitely applies to boxers.

Why is Jackson biting your shoes? Because he is a Boxer! That is one of the things they do.

When I first got Clia, I was amazed that she was fascinated with my shoes and wanted to bite them. Actually, it is feet, as she has pulled off my shoes and then wants to gnaw on my feet. No real biting, just playful gnawing.

It is typical of the breed as far as I have been able to determine. If your shoes can stand it, let it go. Clia never tears up my shoes; however, occasionally, she will pick up an empty one and "kill" it.

As for curing jumping, carry a spray bottle with an about 90/10 solution of water and vinegar. When he jumps up, spritz him in the face and say "NO!!" This should cure him soon enough.

Sounds like you have a pretty typical boxer!
Remy used to pee when petted (mostly when my husband petted him--I think it was a submissive thing). If I remember correctly, he was a few years old before he stopped completely. You're lucky if Jackson's already "grown out" of that that. :)

My Tina used to pee when she got excited until she turned 1 year. She also liked to play with my shoes (when I was wearing them :D). Not anymore. Seems she lost all her interest to them as she grew up :)

Our previous boy, Chester, was ten when he went to the Rainbow Bridge but he continued to pee when certain people came to visit. - When my husband came home from an out-of-town trip, we sent him outside to greet him!
I have a couple of friends too who Chester loved and we following the same routine with them. The vet called it 'submissive wetting' and he didn't outgrow it!

Ttakas and Bronte are guilty of the jumping up habit - but mostly when we are out for a walk and meet somebody who wants to say hello. They learned the 'off' command very young, as well as 'leave it' when they were chewing or into anything they shouldn't touch. Thanks to Ian Dunbar's 'Gentle Puppy Training' we started them at 7-8 weeks old!
